Kieron Lomax Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 Hello, I am new to this forum and this is my first post. I will be reading amongst the other posts to understand better the format and its possibilities, but for beginning I am wondering if a Super8 Camera exists that has a video out, for instantaneous screening of the observed? I would also like such a camera to posses auto and manual focus modes and film speed adjustment. The Bolex 5120 has a 'Mon.' input jack, is this for the output of a video signal to a monitor? Kieron.
Nicholas Kovats Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 That is a audio monitoring connector on your Bolex. No video out on any stock Super 8 cam prior to the last year of manufacture in 1982. New Danish Logmar Super 8 camera has SD video ouput built in and hinged LCD screen. Mark Dunn Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 (edited) Very few Super-8 cameras ever had autofocus and they were awkward to focus manually. The technology simply hadn't developed. IIRC it used ultrasound and wasn't very effective, a far cry from today's blink of an eye. However if you're determined here's one. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Canon-AF-514-XL-S-Canosound-EX-Condition-Boxed-/331705563134?hash=item4d3b3137fe:g:lXAAAOSw5VFWQ2HY Edited November 15, 2015 by Mark Dunn
