James Lyndon
Hi I just downloaded Drylab's Set Report app for iPhone. I'm going throught the features and under each take you have the ability to assign the T-Stop. Coming from a photography backround the options are a little different to what I'm used to (f-stops). The options are, for example: 1.4 1.4+ 1.4/2 2/1.4 2- 2 2+ 2/2.8 2.8/2 ...etc If iI'm shooting at 1.4 that's fine but what if I'm shooting at 1.8 or 2.5? do these values represent 1/3rd and 1/2 stops or something? If so which is which? Hopefully someone can shed some light on these meanings. Thanks in advance. - James Lyndon
Max Field
Are you just asking the difference between t-stop and f-stop? The wording confuses me slightly.
James Lyndon
No, I'm asking what the terminology of 1.4+ 1.4- 1.4/2 2/1.4 ...etc I;ve attached an image of the app options wheel:
Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted April 12, 2016 Premium Member Share Posted April 12, 2016 looks to me like the app designer is just crap. 2/2.8 coudl be a 2 and 1/3rd and maybe 2.8/2 is more like a 2 and 1/2 and 2.8- is more like a 2 2/3rds In cinema we generally don't work in the, as i call them, strange stops, e.g. 1.8 ( we'd call that 2 and 2/3rds-- or sometimes a bump under 2.8).
