Premium Member Phil Rhodes Posted May 14, 2016 Premium Member Share Posted May 14, 2016 Hi Folks As the last of my bits of carefully black-painted polystyrene foam have now dissolved into the inevitable pile of little white balls that stick to your clothes, I need some proper flags. I was thinking of some 24x36 ones. A friend of mine in LA just bought a couple for, as I recall, about $35 apiece. Here, they're twice that at least and usually much more. Is there anywhere in the UK from whence I could order this stuff at a reasonable price? If I had a welder, I'd make 'em... P

Stuart Brereton
It's admittedly a long time ago, but last time I bought grip gear in the UK, I got it from Arri. Good quality, as you'd expect. I believe it's mostly re-branded Manfrotto/Avenger.
Maximilian Motel
I don't know the shippin fees, but I often use mbfshop.de (a German shop, let me know if you need help translating). Or directly from Manfrotto, they sell the avenger grip stuff in Germany (though I suspect probably all of Europe).
Premium Member Phil Rhodes Posted May 22, 2016 Author Premium Member Share Posted May 22, 2016 Well, I pinged Phil Leonard at Griptex soon after that post went up, and haven't received a reply. Presumably I'm not a big enough deal.] Welcome to little England... P
JD Hartman
You recently were in LA on business, couldn't bring anything back as baggage on your employer's dime? http://www.woodennickellighting.com/pages/mainutilitypages/wnmainframe.html Used gear from Wooden Nickle: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.881989888529440.1073741834.117046921690411&type=3 Not even something compact? http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/272813-REG/Matthews_350596_RoadRags_II_Kit.html
Premium Member Phil Rhodes Posted May 22, 2016 Author Premium Member Share Posted May 22, 2016 Nope. There are baggage fees for anything past the first checked piece these days - they were introduced immediately the fuel prices went up, and (shockingly!) weren't reversed once the fuel prices went down again. And yes I know that Wooden Nickel is a cornucopia of highly-affordable wonders. P
