Chris Burke Posted February 6, 2021 Posted February 6, 2021 What is your budget?? There are many options available. Here is one https://www.moviestuff.tv/moviestuff_universal_mark_ii_series.html
Premium Member Tyler Purcell Posted February 6, 2021 Premium Member Posted February 6, 2021 Sadly the only good scanners are very expensive. What you really need with super 8 is cleanliness and good optics. You won't get that with a cheap movie stuff scanner, it just doesn't happen. You're going to be spending $40k USD or so to get a decent scanner that can do Super 8 at any quality that's worth people paying for.
Gregory Dargent Posted November 6, 2021 Posted November 6, 2021 Hi ! I've build mine, that's the cheaper and best alternative I've found, I now can scan super8 and 16mm in 4k at home with a not too bad quality. You can have a look here for a lot of informations about how to build your scanner : www.kinograph.cc Cheers, Gregory
Dan Baxter Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 The Pictor Pro is fine if you only want to do 8mm and Super 8, priced at €13.5K which is less than half the price of the HDS+.
