  1. what can i say but wow... oh yeah... WOW! true that! :)
  2. call me romantic; but it was genius for their time - and i have really good memories of this movie - an affair to remember.
  3. aw man, the guys who posted before me are experts. they got those calculations down already. me, i still mostly wing it. so basically i'll just say ditto... LOL ^o^
  4. the way i see it, an underexposed shot is more useful than an overexposed shot - post edit does miracles. what you should be more worried about are the colors. the deeper you go, the darker the blue gets - and increasing cyan and magenta helps. however, if you are a purist, two stops, as mentioned by dan, is still workable. you might want to play around with your settings when you are still on the water surface before you go deeper. needless to say, overcompensate.
  5. i prefer the "bruckheimer-like" look so i usually increase contrast on postedit. for lights, i use those screw in fluorescent bulbs that have an almost amber-like hue to it, and put them in hoods and stuff. for going really cheap on lights, not a bad result actually. you just have to setup lots of it - probably a minimum of 4-6 per shot or something like that... but it always varies...
  6. a canon GL1 wouldn't be too bad... and it's right around that price range. if you can find a 2nd hand off ebay or something like that, that would be great. just make sure you got 3CCD... that makes a whole lot of difference... ^_^
  7. let me put it this way - invest more on hardware than software. your output is limited to the hardware that was used to take your stills/videos. if you are into stills, a canon 20d is not too bad, and not too steep. if you're into video, a canon GL1 wouldn't be too bad either. but if you can push it up a notch, that would make a whole lot of difference. as for software, hey, there are always ways around those things... like having rebates and stuff. why? did you think i was talking about pirated stuff? heck no. piracy just makes hardwork from honest people like us count for nothing... so i'm totally against it. seeing a music video you did in a free video site way before your group releases it will teach you that
  8. i'm not sure if this will help but ebay always has stuff like these for sale. on my first search, i found this... maybe with a little more searching, you can find even cheaper ones: http://cgi.ebay.com/Canon-814xl-s-Super-8m...0QQcmdZViewItem
