Here is my last short film to be made while I am in school. Made in the beautiful city of Austin, TX. I think I am going to make a few minor editing changes and clean the sound up a bit. What do you guys think? https://webspace.utexas.edu/gcj58/A%20Birth...20%28Web%29.mov

Thats awesome! Can you post a clip or two? I want to see how it looks and sounds. Were you happy with the quality of the audio?

The zoom ring seems to be stuck on my new Canon 1014 AZ. I have tried setting the zoom to auto and using the buttons and that doesnt work either. It wont go past 7mm. The macro seems to work fine, the ring turns when I pull the macro button out but it will only stay in the macro part. What should I do?

Are there any good places that offer student discounts on super 8 stock?

Loading the k3 is a nightmare. Count me out. I would rather load a CP-16.

Is there a place that has clean screen grabs for each super 8 stock that visually explains the difference?

He convinced me to buy a canon 1014 AZ. I hope its good. I paid $190 for it on ebay and it's description said it was in working order with a camera test. We'll see. -
Is there someplace online I can get the manual for the canon 1014 autozoom. Not the sound version just the regular one. Also, is the camera quiet enough to shoot sound separately?

The Big Pull

It's just a surreal 2 minute film. I think you are trying to read to much into it. What was I trying to say? I wasnt trying to say anything except create a mood and an action with a thin narrative structure. It was by no means supposed to be funny. Again i think you might be trying to hard to find something that isnt there. Trying thinking of it as a painting or a picture that just happens to be moving. -
Stills from a 250D film shot on a CP-16
Galen Carter-Jeffrey replied to Galen Carter-Jeffrey's topic in 16mm
It's probably noise from the transfer. We overexposed by one stop becasue we wanted it to feel a little more bright outside. Im not sure what lens we used, just the standard zoom lens that the school gives out with the CP-16. -
This was shot on an arrio SB

My friend is looking to buy a super 8 camera and doesn't want to spend more than $400. Is it possible to get one for this price that has many user features and manual settings? Is ebay the best place to look for these cameras?

Is the short film any good? -
I am shooting a film this weekend and I had a few questions about film stocks and transferring. We are shooting a scene that takes place at an outside birthday party and has lots of colorful decorations. I want the scene to be vibrant and colorful. My friend who is more knowledgeable with all the stocks demanded I use 100D reversal. After talking with my producer and professor we made the decision to shoot on Fuji 250D . We got 3 free rolls of this stock and a great discount. My questions is, can we make this stock look close to what reversal looks like. I love how reversal stocks really make the colors just pop and I want to have something similar.

I am shooting a short film pretty soon and I want to telecine to Digibeta and edit from that. I want to buy a new External harddrive to edit from but I'm not sure how much space I would need. If I shoot 2800 feet of 16mm how much hard drive space will I need?

I just shot some camera tests and I want to take a high quality screen grab using final cut pro. What is the best way to do this? How do get rid of all the video stuff that appears in some freeze frames?
