  1. As to the post option I have the film fix plug in for After effects. It works ok at best. Besides agonizing render times I notice posterization of the footage if you use the flicker remover. I haven't tryed the stabalizer yet. Will let you know. The sample clip they give you works great, but then the sample clip they give you would wouldn't it. I've seen a metal pressure plate for super 8 cartrages but I now it was kinda pricey and not sure how good it works. (not to mention I'd forget I put it in a cartrage and end up sending it to the lab with the film.) Todd
  2. I just was at your site earlier. Is there somewhere I can view a sample? I've been looking to get a telecine system I can use for do it yourself telecine. I was going between yours and the Sniper series. Was hoping to compare footage. The fact that it doesn't need to tie up my computer makes me very interested. I also read about you in Super 8 today. Todd
  3. Guy's it's super 8. Also no one has seen this guys transfers you may be very suprised. Let's let him post something he's transfers before we say it's not as good as X Y or Z. Yes Rank transfers will look better but a lot has to do with the artist behind the machine. I get told how much better stuff looks that has been done on a flame over After effects all day long. It's like the debate over Avid and Final Cut they both do the same thing. If he does the color correction and the Gamma Correction well, it may be very good and worth the savings. I mean if your going to pay $200 or so an hour for transfer and then get it dumped to minidv it's kinda pointless anyway, I Think. I think there is a lot of percieved professionalism in this business. It cost more therefore it has to be better. Let's wait and see how it looks. --Todd
  4. 43. Virtual reality glasses to get on the internet. 44. 10 computer monitors per computer 45. random bar fights (in topless bar) 46. One man Against the odds 47. Magic one button video enhancement 48. Magical land where vampires are accepted as real. 49. In every police duo one is trained on defusing bombs, but they are clumsy and end up shot or pinned under something. 50. Lack of paper work for police. Todd
  5. I've used Dwayne's for Super 8 and haven't had any problems. Not sure if they cross process, but with normal processing turn around is 1 day. I priority mail my film to them and usually get it back in 3-4 days from when I sent it. (Im in Michigan by the way. Just to clarify that I don't live next door to the place or anything.) Todd
  6. I bought the same camera a little while ago. I had to really scrub the battery contacts with a green scouring pad. They are copper in color when I got the camera they looked greyish. Once I got them scrubbed dpwn real good it started right up. Also the camera should work with the handle up or down. Todd
  7. Thanks. It seems like a good unit. (and it's kinda affordable) Again thanks to all that replied Todd Now off to get my light meter!!!!!
  8. Thanks for the reply!! I read 2 sites that claim it's not a good idea to use a light meter. (didn't make much sense to me) I got an Sekonic l-188 from my still camera days. I wanted to get a feel for what kind people are using. I've got my eye on a Sekonic Studio Deluxe l-398. (it costs more then my camera did but hey) I come from the world of post production and I'm use to using Video Cameras for most of what I've shot. Video is just a little easier to figure exposures. I'm hoping to get into film some more just have a few questions. Thanks again for the reply!! Todd
  9. My Light meter don't work. I did search the site and found a couple of past threads about it. Looks like i'm going to be buying a light meter soon. Todd
  10. Anyone use light meters with your super 8's? And if so do what kind of light meter do you use and do you use a grey card? Thanks for any info Todd
