  2. MTM and several other manufactures used to make prism projectors for interlocking (spliced) work print and edited tracks for projection. But these have sprockets next to the prism... just like a flatbed. -Alain
  3. Consider purchasing through a lab. ORWO for example, can be purchased through labs who use the stock. -Alain
  4. DA Pennebaker used the Angenieux 10-150 on the doc The War Room. He was shooting with an Aaton XTR. Angenieux is hated by many camera folks, but 12-120s and 10-150s were used on many wonderful and important docs and some features shooting 16mm. I think it has its own unique look, maybe not a Cooke or a Zeiss or a Canon, but not as awful as some people like to claim. It also boils down to how long you plan to be shooting std 16 and when you plan to convert to s16. ; ) -Alain
  5. Yes, I am also under the impression that the new Kinoptiks will cover s16, however I am looking at the one Ian Marks is selling and wondering if it cover s16. I'm not familiar enough with the Kinoptiks to look at the serial number and have a sense of when it was produced. Ian has not used the lens and cannot confirm it covers super 16 having never seen it on a camera or a lens projector. Anyone have a contact for Kinoptik or Kinopik vendors in the US and other than A Cam? I guess maybe Du-All since they sell the A Cam, no? -Alain
  6. Yes, the late model Kinoptik 9mm lenses do cover s16, even the C mount version. But I'm not certain of the vintage of the one Ian Marks is selling and neither does he... so I took my question here. -Alain
  7. I know, I know... I've been working a lot lately and Kinetal stuck in my head rather than Kinoptik. Silly mistake. -Alain
  8. Sorry, I screwed up... I meant KINOPTIK, not Cooke Kinetal. -Alain
  9. I don't current have a 9mm Kinetal, but I was curious since I spotted one on eBay that claims to cover "super 16", and so I asked around and got mixed responses. The one on eBay now has a focus ring. -Alain
  10. Looking for facts.... Does the 9mm f1.5 Cooke Kinetal cover super 16? Or does any version of this lens cover s16? I was told that some do and some don't, and that all of the late-model, multi-coated versions do? Any experts out there? Or does anyone know the 9mm Kinetal history by serial number range? -Alain
  11. What about Aaton's Penelope - 35mm 3-perf *and* data backs in place of magazines! Maybe 3-perf will kill s16?! ; ) -Alain Proud owner of Aaton XTR.
  12. Sorry for the confusion on my part. I somehow managed to read the "R/A" as simply being "A". I was referring to the non-reflex camera: CP-16/A. -Alain
  13. CP-16/A is a non-reflex camera. Two mounts - C cup, and if one removes the C cup then it has a C mount. I'd suggest using Switar or Schneider 10mm C mount with a side-finder. Great set-up for most shooting. -Alain
  14. Mathew, Might be interested in the lot. Do you have an email I can contact? -Alain
  15. I also asked for serial number and pics. Nothing first time around... and its been re-listed. Bozeman1 was the previous high bidder, and left negative feedback. I asked the seller why the camera is re-listed? No answer. I asked Bozeman1 what happened, and still awaiting reply. -Alain
  16. Those smaller batteries should do 1.5 mags (or roughly 600'), so two will do about 3 mags. The charger is a slow charge (overnight). Remember to cycle the batteries once a month if they are sitting on the shelf. Run the power down, and then charge to full capacity... it will extend the life of the NiCD cells. -Alain
  17. Allen, I'd suggest using the C mount (not the standard C cup) and setting it up with a 10mm Switar and side finder... But it really depends on what you want to shoot and whether you plan on shooting color or B/W. A zoom is a big thing to hang off the CP-16/A if you do not need one. Primes are faster and tend to be sharper. -Alain
  18. Nice camera Martin! I hardly recognize it. Looks like Les did a nice job on the conversion. Good luck with shooting. -Alain
  19. Kip, Try Shelton Communications or ProCam. Both good sources for good quality used rollers. -Alain
  20. Nate, Someone might have beat you to it, but I'll let you know either way. Please send all future correspondence to letourneau(dot)alain(at)gmail(dot)com. Thanks, Alain
