  1. You could use gradents the same way they did in Lonsome Dove and keep the subjects head just below where the color starts to change.
  2. Well, there is only one way to put the reel in correctly... That is so the film comes off the bottom.
  3. What a bunch of old ladies hahaha! Loading it is easy, just check out Olex's instructions or the manual over at NCS.
  4. The lens is fine, its just not any good for macro work or wide stuf realy. Anyway, you should NEVER run any film camera at any more then 24fps without film.
  5. Alex Fostdevet, all the guys from The Collective, Chris Paterson and Brian Sisslemen.
  6. I'm watching CSI LV right now, and just noticed that theres alot of noticible grain, much less then I'd expect from 35mm... So would someone set me strait and tell me what these killer shows are shot on?
  7. Well all battaries recharge themselves a little bit, so I got back some power ha. But i had to work all day today so i didnt get to play with mmy toy haha. Tomorrow though, TOMOERROW!!!!!
  8. Nick- Too late, ah! Oh well, I got this load pretty cheep so I'm not too bumd... I decided it would be a good idea to leave my lightmeeter battary on while my dad and i went to dinner and now there is no more battary. I am so smart
  9. Alright, here is my temporary solution. Since regular 8 and 16 use the same size film, i took the pressure plate from an old 8mm that my mom has (shes out of town, wich is the only reason such things can be done) and placed it where the normal plate would be. In order to keep it in place, i used tiney strands of duct-tape (will vigorsly clean what little residue it leaves) to keep tension and to keep it from falling. I am going to experement with it a little. so far I have rolled a total of 5 meeters just to play with it and am about to shoot some more serious stuff. for the last few meters i'll take my plate out and run it without one.
  10. Quick question, does the preassure plate need to move at all?
  11. that might produce a cool look...
  12. I am assuming it would be stupid to run anything through it without the plate?
  13. Nah the great thing is that I bought it from a guy on here. I realised that I have never seen it, but being such an ignorant noob to 16mm or any film I didnt realise it. I'll see if the guy still has it and if not I guess I'll just buy one from NCS. Thanks.
  14. After looking at Olexs very detailed loading diagram (thanks for that mate), I have just come to the sudden realization that there is no pressure plate on my K-3 :o :o !!! There us the thing that applys the pressure to the plate, but no plate. I have searched everywhere for it, and cant find it. What do I do now? Try and get a replacement from NCS? Please help as I just got my first 100foot load and wanna shoot it! Thanks, Dory
  15. Very cool! I would love to get my hands on one someday.
  16. I have heard of it being done with REALY good chroma keying... but that seems like it would be rather... aggravating?
  17. I'm going to go smoke some weed now... :)
  18. Ah man that sucks! Gah now that I actualy want a crystal sync motor   ... Anyways good luck with the TC rigs!
  19. Wixh is not a good thing. Awesome! Post your resuilts when you get them back...
  20. It is an Arri S ripoff. I cannot remember wich company made it, but Olex or Tim should be able to lcear it up.
