  1. Thank Bruce for picture. The upper case - case for battery, and battery devoices- can be good for Konvas camera. Second case ( from top ) case for Kinor-35H camera, have bigger can be use for Konvas camera too. Two next cases - canbe use for prime, zoom lenses.

Konvas-2M with 50 mm spherical lens, 17EP-16 APK motor and 60 m film magazine have size : length=280 mm, width 220 mm, height 250 mm. with 120 m film magazine : length=350 mm, width 220 mm, height 320 mm. The battery must be kept separately from camera, because, any pestiferous exhalations can destroy of parts of camera and lens. Yes, The original wood case do not comfortable. As for me, the good choose of original aluminum cases from Kinor-35H camera. The case for battery for body of camera. The case for lenses for set of prime lenses.   3. Good vide and can help to many filmmakers. But, if we will told about procedure of loading of a 120m film magazine of Konvas camera, the author have a few main mistakes. 1. As of user manual, the 120 m film magazine of Konvas camera use of film rolls with emulstion on outside. And the way of film from feed core will a some differ. But, from practical side, the 120 mf ilm agazine can use of film rolls with emulsion insode too ( show on video). 2. Need cut of a angle of films only, make end of film like trapezium, do not like triangle. The trapezium better for setting inside cut of takeup core. 3. Important. For transfer film over upper and lower cog's wheels need press on wheel's button and turning a cog's wheel. The video show " to press on wheel's button and force through a film. As of my experience, this is do not correct. 4. Very important. The autor of video do not show very inportant procedure - to setting a corect side of upper and lower film loops. The size of loops very important for quality of footage, that's why, this is procedure very important too. If you set small size of loops, the film will jammed. If you set a big size of loops, the film will have scratches.   4. Thank for note. The lenses of 35 mm cine cameras have limitation of a frame size: Normal 35 22x16 mm (anamorphic 22x18.6 mm) or Super 35 - 24,9x18.7 mm. As of this information, the cinema lenses can't cover of a full-frame photo size 36x24 mm.
  5. Thank you for high opinion about my service. Sorry, I don't have special turret disk of Konvas-1M with OST-19 lens mount. A some time ago, Sergey ( sergastr@list.ru, sergastr@yahoo.com ) had similar special turret disk for sell. The similar special turret disk had for sell other guys too. But, As for my opinion, the better, to buy Konvas-2M body with OST-19 lens mount.

  7. I agree Brian information. The filming a TV screen with Bolex with mechanical spring motor or hand cranking do not possible. You can't synchronize a speed of shooting of camera with frame scan. You need cine camera with crystal sync speed control. But, The many cine cameras with crystal sync speed control can shoot to catch a frame line at TV screen shooting. Need crystal sync speed control with special Phase adjust fuction. Our microprocessor controllers have Phase adjust fucntion. We attach of this fuction to main programm for shoot of a TV screens and synchronize with video assistance devices of camera. Now, tsi work fine. You run a camera, can check position a frame line on viewfinder or to see winking on TV screen of a video assistance. You press on " Phase " button of motor control and controller to slow down a speed of camera on a very small value and you see the frame line go to out screen position. Only you do not see frame line, you release "Phase" button, the controiller set crystal sync speed value and you have excellent footage without frame line. A some time ago, at our previous projects, we use other idea of a synchronize speed of camera with TV screen. We take special pulses from main power or TV signal and send to motor controller. The electronic adjust of speed of motor with frequency of outside sync signal. This work, but, ask of long signal cords. Now, we use of Phase adjusting of a speed fuction at our controllers.
  8. I do not show a price list on my site, because: I wish show price list by personal main only. But, from other side, i can propose a many version of controllers, many version of addiional electronic modules and full price list show a some tangled. From other side i know a all technical design features, details of programms main microprocessor and can help to choose of best version for customer. That's why, I prefer personal discuss with customer and wish know technical requests. We create a new version of controllers and programms and i wish know new technicial requests. If you wish re-adjust original version of electronics a 29EPSS motor from speed 25 fps to 24 fps only, i can give you all instructions do this. If you wish have one crystal sync speed 24 fps at Kinor-16 SX-2M and do not wish have digital film counter, remote control, digital voltmeter a battery. I do not know, you wish have automatic parkin function on camera or not ( The controller will turn a shutter disk at position for viewing at stopping a motor ). I can propose install a main crystal sync speed controller 29EP-1414. The programm of a 29EP-1414 controller can have 16 fixed crystal sync speed ( maximum ) and electronic speed setting with 3 digital LED display, can have 10 ( or 6 ) crystal sync speeds and mechanical speed switch. The difference between 6 speed and 10 speed version 50 euros only. At one speed version upgrade, I can install 29EP-1414 controller with 6 speed editional and setup a code of 24 fps speed only. The price of one speed version will less from 6 speed version on price of speed coder with mechanical switch and price of metal front panel.( -30 euros ) All other fuctions will full simialar a 29EP-1414 controller. You can see, i can make a custom's upgrade. We can disucss a any wishes and technical requests by PM. If you check of our last information, we can propose upgrade motor with Time lapse shooting controller, install a video assistance on Kinor-16 SX camera.
  9. As of my experience to use a LOMO anamorphic lenses with Konvas and Kinor-35 camera without dizanamorphic viewfinder can tell, this is hard headache. I can't focusing a anamorphic lens without dizanamorphic viewfinder by ground glass, can focus by distance marks on lens only. But, do not all lenses have excellend FFD adjusting and you can lost sharpness on film. The situation change too much after i attach a dizanamorphic viewfinder to Konvas. I can focus lens by ground glass and image had great sharpness. At final, if you do not wish have problem with sharpness on film, to attach a dizanamorphic viewfinder to camera. May be, Konvas dizanamorphic viewifnder can be attach to ACL. If you conform me your interest by PM to me, I can test of my Konvas dizanamorphic viewfinder with my Eclair ACL 1,5

  11. The "emulsion leftover on the edge " can be from touch of emulsion with end of groove a spiral. Do you use of single 16 mm spiral assembling or two 16 mm films spiral assembling ? ( for note, I add of a few pages about assembling of LOMO tank spiral on my site ). If you use Super 16 film, you need load film with perforation to down. The part of film with perforation will set inside groove a spiral. About value of chemistry. For processing, you need solutions of : One Super 8, 8 mm film -.............................................. 0.85 litre, One 16 mm, DS8, 2x8 Super, D8, 2x8 film -.................... 1.0 litre, One 35 mm film -.......................................................... 1.7 litre, Two Super 8, 8 mm films -............................................. 1.3 litre One Super 8 ( 8 mm ) + one 16 mm ( DS8, D8 ) films....... 1.5 litre Two 16 mm, DS8, 2x8 Super, D8, 2x8 films .................... 1.8 litre What kinds you turn of a spiral axis at processing ? The matter is that, as of my experience, the procedure of turn of spiral axis ( mix of chemistry ) influence at final color balance. I use 5 second low speed turn and 10 second waiting. E-6 processing ask of high temperature stability. I use a solution heating before use, to heating a tank with film inside without solution, and heating a tank with solution inside.   12. I doubt, what Bolex and Eclair will have price less $1000. 16 mm Crystal sync speed camera and price less $1000, unreal. I see way : Kinor-16 SX-2M, original edition, 100 ft, 400 ft film magazines, 12-120 or 10-100 zoom lens with original 29EPSS motor ( analog speed stabilization) can have price $650..850. Will need additional battery, power cord, charging unit. $150..250 29EPSS motor Upgrade to crystal sync speed, difference versions, price from 320 euros. The camera can ask of service, re-lube. May be, at first stage, to use original edition of camera with 29EPSS motor with 25 fps. If you need 24 fps, 29ESS motor can be re-calibrate. Analog system of speed stabilization have speed stability +/- 2,5%. This is good value for shooting. At second stage, you can upgrade of motor on crystal sync speed with wide list of speeds, up to 50, 60 fps. If you need cheaper used 16mm camera with less price, this can be Krasnogrosk-3. But, Krasnogrhosk-3 have mechanical spring motor and have limit with list of a wide angle lenses. After a some time to use of Krasnogrosk-3 you will think about wide angle lenses, 400 ft magazine and electrical motor and will go to Kinor-16 or other camera with motor. Kinor-16 can have 6 mm super wide angle lens, 10 mm, 15 mm ... up to 300 mm. Zoom lenses 10-100 mm can have 0.75 x front attachmnet ( with attachmnet 7.5-75 mm ). Kinor-16 can have high sensitivity, high resolution video assistance, can be upgrade to PL mount and S16.   13. The any scratch must be study detailed and without image this is complex problem. The size of upper film loop can influence at scratch on film too. If the size of top film loop big, the film can touch of upper surface of film gate and can set scratch on film. But, this is scratches must be as of dash line and from emulsion side.
  14. Can you send me a image of film gate with scratch on PM? Theoretically, you can re-polishing a film gate, but, K-3 film gate have thin layer a chromium-plating and you can take off of this layer.
  15. Hi users of russian professional cine cameras Kinor-16. I wish inform you about technical possibility to install of a video assistance. The video assistance have " combined optical scheme" and to work with original optical viewfinder jointly and do not influence on quality of image at optical viewfinder. The CCD camera of video assistance can be B&W or color. The similar optical scheme of video assistance can be use for upgrade of other type of cameras too. Our 2213 crysdtal sync speed controller of motor have time lapse mode with time of waiting of next frame 1, 2, 4, 8, 15, 30,(1/2 minute)60 ( 1 minute ), 120( 2 minutes ), 240(4 minutes) , 600 ( 10 minutes), 900sec(15 minutes ). You need one shoot every 5 minutes ? The one shoot every 4 minutes do not good for you ? What kinds of list of waiting time a next shoot can be need from practical side ?   18. I subscribe to a Tim opinione. Macro 4/3 cameras ( Panasonic G1, GH1, GF1, G2, G10 , Olympus PEN E-P1, E-P2, E-PL1) have sensor with 22.5 mm diagonal. Normal 16 film gate 10,1 x 7,45 mm, diagonal 12.55mm Super 16 film gate 12,35 x 7,45 diagonal 14,42 mm 35 mm Academy 35 mm, film gate 22x 16 mm, diagonal 27,2 mm, Super 35, film gate 24 x 18 mm, diagonal 30 mm. You can see, the sensor with diagonal 22,5 mm can cover of academy 35 lenses only. But, As of russian lenses, a some professional cine lenses of 16 mm cine cameras use of optical blocks from 35 mm cine cameras ( from 50 mm ), that's why, theoretically, this is lenses can cover of a Macro 4/3 sensor. But, 16 mm lenses with optical blocks from 35 mm cine camera can have special mask at rear side of lens and mask will diminish final diameter of image circle. That's why, the lens compatible or not can asnwer optical technician only after special test.
  19. Time lapse shooting ask full closed film gate at time of waiting of next shoot. Becase, any small light reflection can destory of final image. Thta's why, the better, if the cine camera will have shutter at film surface or will have double shutter disk- one mirror, second at film surface. Time lapse shooting ask of high precision positioning of film at film gate, that's why, the camera must have two side registration pins. About lightweight camera can be a some problem, the high precision camera will have big weight (8...10 kg ). The electrical motor with high control at time lapse and high speed ( 150 fps ) canbe problem. The better, to have two electrical motors, for time lapse or for high speed. The interested idea to use of russian RFK-5, PSK-29 at base for Time Lapse upgrade. Other idea to use of Konvas camera with upgraded 17EP-16 APK motor with Time Lapse. We have 2213 crystal sync speed controller with 21 crystal sync speeds 6.250 8 10 12 12.5 15 16 16.666 20 23.976 24 25 29.970 30 32 33.333 36 40 48 50 60 fps, Time Lapse #1 : time of film exposing 1/8 s and time of waiting of next shoot :1, 2, 4, 8, 15, 30,60, 120, 240, 600, 900sec. or Time Lapse #2 : Time of film exposing 1, 2, 4, 8, 15, 30,60, 120,240,600,900, sec and time of waiting of next frame 1/8 s. multi mode film counter with LCD display.   20. If i understand correct from images of Burke & James stainless steel tank. The tank have stainless spiral. But, what kinds of height of spiral ? I don't see upper disk. I can suppose, the spiral have stripe on full height of film ( 8 mm) and you need load film between stripes. But, the film can touch of stripe and chemisrty do not touch with emulstion constantly. The lower and middle spiral of LOMO tank have grooving with height 1.8 mm -similar of distance between film edge and perforation. The part of film with image do not touch of spiral and have godo contact with chemistry from two sides of film. LOMO spiral rotate inside tank, that's why, you can turn of spiral and mix chesmitry very effective. Any case, willbe good idea to study detailed and to test of Burke & James stainless steel tank.

  23. Krasnogorsk-3 don't better a choose for S16 upgrade. K-3 have not best profile of film gate and S16 upgrade can scratch from side of widening a film gate. K-3 amateur cine camera and do not have side clamping of film. K-3 have mechanical speed control mechanism with precision of speed control near 20%. The footage of K-3 can differ from ACL too much. About serious flicker issues, may be this is frequency pulsation between camera speed and main power signal ? What kinds of main power frequency ? speed fo shooting ? angle of shutter disk ? If you use HMI lighters with magnetic ballast, teh sinchronization between main power and speed of camera importnat too much. Yes, i agree ideas of Andrian to rent of professional S16 camera,

  25. Yes, Konvas 2 pef upgrade ask of special parts and do not easily. If the CM3 can attach a Konvas 17EP-16 APK motor ( or 18EP-16 APK ), or any DC motor with permanent magnetic and feed back, we can build of any version of crystal sync speed control with time lapse and signle frame shooting.
