  1. Hello everybody, I know this might not be the appropriate forum to post this but I ran out of options. I work for an agency in Mexico that provides different events and shows to the Mexican Government as well as to different states in Mexico. we are trying to get a hold on some stunt coordinator that could provided us with something alas light, Motors, action from Disney/MGM. It might sound far fetched, but maybe someone knows a stunt coordinator that could provide something like that. We tried contacting Disney/MGM but we had no luck. thanks in advance.
  2. I shot it, edited and colour corrected it, If i was part of U2 i could be the creator of the song too!!! Open to criticism, proposals, ideas and more. thx in advance! To see my portfolio you can go to www.vimeo.com/msanz cheers!

  6. Yeah, you're right man. Well, I'm trying to get a job in Ontario, as anything. I'm currently living in Mexico and want to legally get to Canada, so if you know someone that needs a PA or anything film related that can match my profile I'd love to send my resume. Cheers =D
  7. I always wanted BD to win, and now it did in some way. I think that most consumers of High Definition where waiting for this war to be over so they can go and buy their players, they didn't want another Betamax VS VHS war, when people bought their Betamax (My parents still have theirs somewhere in a storage) but then they had to buy a VHS. So kudos to Toshiba and Sony, now they can focus on consumer service and bring great BD players to the table (If you think BD player are expensive and can afford a PS3 go for it) So Future is here, lets embrace it and enjoy our movies on big screen plasmas, HD projectors or any place you'd like to see them.
  8. grab the lyrics, read them while listening to the song get into the song and imagine what's the best way to showcase the song, if it's hard rock you can go crazy, if it's a soft song go with the story, if it's country it's a bit easier, you can just go and have your little short film with the song. You have to remember that Music Videos are exposure for the band / singer, so you have to show them from time to time, maybe they can be the actors, or just a background band playing at someone's prom or sweet 16, or county party, specially for first time music videos since what they want it's for people to recognize them and get exposure. Other thing is to watch as many music videos as you can, from the same genre, or combine genres, something bizarre might come out and it could be a fantastic music video. Best of luck my friend, have fun with your music video.
  9. And just translate what is going to be in your final cut if not you're going to spend a lot of time translating your interview. That if you understand Spanish, if you don't, well you do need to translate everything in oder for you to have a great interview flow with your documentary. And the word document it's a great idea, simplifies everything just with copy paste. Cheers
  10. I think he's talking about runaway productions as the ones that go from the states to Canada, as that's the name they get. run away as in; go to Canada shoot and run away!
  11. Just got more information regarding work visas, it can be accelerated if need it, specially if it is for art, film, video, concerts or athletes. But the cost goes up  . I also have all the related information of what does the employer needs to send over to INS or an immigration lawyer. Hope this helps if people from outside the states applied, just like me :D. Good luck Tim, and this project can make it, it's just a matter of determination, and good sales. ;)
  12. It all depends on the one person you hire. I f that person is a good salesman, you're going to have some good odds in getting them to shoot in your place. If the DP/Producer/Director/Writer/Editor you hire knows a lot of people but they don't feel like going there and use your facilities, I do not think that's going to work up for your facility. On a few words, hire someone capable of bring in productions, with the knowledge on sales, marketing and advertising. That's my humble opinion. P.S. A friend of mine is getting some good shoots for Leo Burnett Mexico, and so on. It all depends on the person you hire, and how persistent that person can be, and his/her knowledge of the trade.
  13. Hey Jesus You have to call the Secretaria de Turismo , they are the ones in charge of the Film Comission. Secretaria De Turismo 5 De Mayo 525 Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, 64000 Centro Phone: +52-818-340-0924 I have friends there that can help you with that too. let me know if you need their info.
  14. Hey Tim: Well I studied in Toronto, he he and I see I forgot to change my number. I'm going to send you my resume and Film Resume, in order for me to be able to work in the States, I need a job offer and for my employer to go thru a few steps: "Permission to work must be obtained in the USA by an employer who wishes to hire you. This can be a long and extensive procedure, requiring the employer to prove that there are no qualified USA workers available to do the work. After your employment sponsor has been granted approval for you by the INS, it is up to you to apply for a nonimmigrant visa by completing a Nonimmigrant Visa Application." That's what I found, there are a lot of Immigration Lawyers that can help accelerate the process, well a little bit. I have one immigration Lawyer that told me to get a job offer and she can take care of the immigration process, she's in Florida. As per my portfolio, I directed most of them, the only one I didn't direct was the "Vivo por Amore" Rough cut, I DP it, the other ones I directed, they are mostly commercials, and a couple of documentaries and my short film. I also edited all the C&A commercials and the Sorteo Tec infomercial.

  21. HI all; I'm looking for some filmmaking forums in general, from established people or actual people working on films, I want to read about experiences, problems and solutions, chat with people about directing and/or writing. I have the link for pretty good scfreenwriting forums, I lack Directing Forums, this cinematography forums is fantastic as is full of amazing information, that helps me skills grow everyday. ;) Now I want to improve my directing skills, talking to Directors and producers. If any one have some links, I'd really appreciate them. If not, well, I'd have to keep googleing until something good pops up. :P Thank you all in advance. Marcos Sanz
  22. You can also, give him an uncompressed quicktime file, that is going to be big but keeps the quality of your movie, so you don't loose a generation while compressing it. AFX can use almost any video format, and if you use a codec to compress it, just tell the editor what codec you used or give it to him. And you should be alright.
