  1. For sale on ebay Germany I have a nice ACL film mag 60m / 200ft. eBay-Artikelnummer: 314008244875. I've used it with my ACLII S-16 with no issues like scratches ... More parts like viewfinder, lens adapter ACL-Nikon will come soon. Please have a look, Volker
  2. Hi Antoine, the front lens group seems out of focus. You find 4 tiny screws in the silver focus ring. Zoom 100mm. focus set to infinity, loosen the srews a bit, hold the focus ring tight in infinity position, turn the lens front until the image sharpens. Fix the srews and check at close focus. Fine tuning until everything is perfect. Good luck, Volker
  3. Hi Antoine, you should consider the Kern Vario-Switar 1,9 / 16-100mm POE, which was available both with bayonet and c-mount. I have this lens with my RX4 Super-16, it's fast and sharp and covers S-16 through the entire zoom range and all distances down to 1,20m. Rotating front, Wratten gelatine filters still available. No problem with the original Bolex grip that aktivates the side release knob. Good luck, Volker
  4. Out of curiosity I made some test shots with my Leicina Optivaron and Leica M. The image circle is around 7,5mm, with and without ultrawide lens. It seems to be worth a trial. Volker
  5. Hi Michael, how wide is the Max 8 gate? Volker
  6. Optivaron 1,8/6-66 with Schneider Aspheric ultrawide lens III wil give you around 4mm. I use this combo with both my Leicina Special and Bolex DS-8, it's sharp, shows nearly no distortion, but tends to flare under critical lighting condition. Good luck, Volker
  7. Hi Steve, the older Switar 10mm with smaller front diameter (non preset) was told not to cover S-16. The preset Switar also with Aspheron 5,5 will cover S-16 without limitations. This is my personal experience. I wonder, how they could produce a pinhole effect. Mounting the Aspheron, you have to remove the sunshade ring before. Good luck, Volker
  8. Hi Steve, yes, at least the Preset version of the Switar 10mm f/1,6 RX covers S-16. There are no scans to demonstrate. I'm fully analog, shooting reversal for projection. I have a Bauer projector converted to S-16 for my home movie. While the S-16 camera gate is 7,5x12,4mm, if you check the original frame there is a very little amount of darkening in the corners, to me it's neglectable. The window of the projector is 7,2x12,1mm and there is absolutely no vignetting. Even the Aspheron 5,5mm is fully usable. Give your Bolex the kick. I love mine for traveling. Cheers, Volker
  9. Hi Robert, Original ACL to ARRI standard and ACL to Cameflex TS mount Adapter available. Also c-mount to Nikon and c-mount to Leica M, for lighter lenses not too bad. Please let me know by email Cheers, Volker
  10. If you want a ST-1 I can help you. I've 2 of them and can part with 1. Please send me a message, Volker
  11. As far as I know, all Aspheron lenses in various sizes were manufactured by Schneider Kreuznach, distributed by Kern for Bolex Switar, Zeiss for Super Speed 9,5 / 12 and Vari- Sonnar and most common ( and cheap )for Nizo / Beaulieu and Leicina S -8 cameras as Ultrawide size I-III with filter threads 49 / 52 / 55/ 62 / 67 mm. The Kern Aspheron is not easy to find (I will keep mine), but Nizo Ultrawide I or II might also fit the Switar 10, if you find a filter adapter. Good luck, Volker
  12. If you are looking for a 10mm lens plus 5,7, you should also consider the "Aspheron" super wide lens, which transformes the 1,6/10mm Switar into a 5,5mm lens. Needs the preset Switar with extended close focussing. I have this combo with my S-16 Bolex RX4, super sharp, nearly no distortion. It's worth a trial. Volker
  13. For handheld use the motor has a manual trigger as well.
  14. Hi Jon, apologize for the delay, it took some time to make the photos. This is to demonstrate the use of the Bolex Kompendium as a lens support. And the attached small electric motor MC 17. This is the smallest Bolex motor, weighs 600 g only. It's not quartz controlled, speed control goes with the frame dial of the camera. It can also be used with different types of remote control. Please let me know if you are interested, I have two of them and could part with one. The Kompendium is also available. Cheers, Volker
  15. In case it's a fixed Aaton mount and you can't unscrew it, you could use an ARRI B to Aaton adapter to have access to unlimited ARRI lenses. I have that type of adapter and could part with it. Good luck, Volker
  16. Hello Francesco, please let me know, if you are interested in an Schneider Aspheron Ultrawide lens. It's size III for Variogon and Optivaron lenses, screw mount 62 and 67 mm. Cheers, Volker
  17. The macro feature at the wide end is also used for focussing the Schneider Aspheric ultrawide lenses. The combo results in a 3,5mm lens, sharp and without distortion, at least with my Leicina 6-66 Optivaron. Good luck, Volker
  18. Hello Francesco, perhaps I could part with one of my magazines. All french, late series with divided pressure plate. Please send me an email, Volker
  19. Hi Jon, it's me, the guy who sold you your RX5 S-16 some years ago. Hopefully you are still happy with this camera. If you use the locking screw in the free turret hole and the tiny fixing lever on top, a lens up to around 1,5 Kg should not be a problem. I regularly use my Vario-Switar 16-100 (1,4Kg) or Nikkor telelenses up to 300mm, the old Ais 4,5/300 ED lens, with or without additional support. A good idea is to use the large Bolex compendium as support. If you don't already have the turret locking screw, I could help you. By the way, in 2010 I have been traveling with your Bolex and the above mentioned lenses in Western Australia, Murchison River, Shark bay and down south into the forests. Never been in the eastern states, except Tasmania. Love it !!! Let me know if you need the turret fixing screw, I could part with one. All the best, Volker
  20. No problems with ACL and Leica lenses. I've used a lot my Summicron 50 and 90 mm lenses with ACL II and Bolex RX4 with perfect results.
  21. Hi Edward, some M-C mount adapters don't fit the Bolex, they are too wide in diameter to go with the turret. I could part with mine, if you are interested, please send me an email, Volker
  22. Perfect results with my RX4 S-16 and Apo-Summicron 2/90 Asph and Apo-Telyt 3,4/135. Infinity and all distances are spot. Good luck, Volker
