  1. Hi every one I also been thinking about buying the M2 but after what I just read and the footage from the site I just saw I am kind changing my mind, the footage on the demo it looks great but who knows. Is too bad you can?t rent it to check it out before buying it.
  2. First let me thank every one for replying. I don't think I am the kind of person who is trying to dictate what to do to get it done my way is just that I wrote the short and know the characters little bit better since I am the one who created them, but I think actors have their own opinions about what the characters should be or do. One of the characters which I never said he smokes and the actor decide that he would smoke and it did help but every shot from a different angle need a cigarette and we ran out it and I don't have a problem because it did look good in the dark while he smoke in the shot, so I left it alone but since it was not in the script some need to go buy more and that takes time waiting on a pack of cigarette but beside that this actor (Actor/Director) understood very good the characters motivation and needs. He is (Actor/Director) in a way helping because the actress who I had told her a couple of time about her character does not get in character unless he talks to her, then she gets in character and I wondering if there is something I am not saying right or not saying enough I also think in a way that the actor is doing it because he feels that I?m green when it comes to directing even thou he likes the way I write I don't think he sees me as a director, I hope he is doing it to genuinely trying to help me and not to show that he can direct the short with out me. The funny thing is we have three more projects we want to work on. Makes me think, but honestly he is a good actor and want to be in my stories because he likes them. I hope I?m making since?lol
  3. I directing my first short and I happen to have an actor who does have some experience, I don?t mind opinions and suggestions because I think actors should give their opinion about the characters they playing and find out what works and don?t but I feel some time the actors vision is not the same I have. B) Well the actor that has some experience some times takes the role of the director and even thou most of the time it does help the one that has no experience I feel that he over do it, but at the same time I feel that actors should help each other. Or maybe I am not giving the actors what they need, maybe I am not given them the whole vision of what I see and can not tell why. Maybe because I wrote the damn thing and had explained it over and over and over?lol  Any suggestion is welcome.
  4. Cool thanks a lot! I will try it as soon as possible I need to shoot Friday. Thanks again
  5. :) Hello every body I?m shooting a short and was wondering if any one knows  how to make a black eye? Without actually hitting the person...lol  with make up....lol  Thank you much!
  7. The best advice I have is get a small camera and shoot what you like, see what works and not, meet people who are doing what you want to do and help them so you can learn by been around them, get an internship some place where you can watch and learn how they do it. Watch movies. B) I took one class at theworkshops.com and love it, don't have the time or money for film school. And have a plan B. ;)
  8. I would think the director is in charge of the end project, now by saying that it does not mean that every body else does not count, is just that the director have to answer to the men with the money, now if there is no money and have time to do it, me as a director will shoot both ideas dependent on how much time will take to shoot them. So next time seat down with your DP and editor and go thru your shots and ideas before shooting anything. Directors you might have to compromise or shoot both ideas and see what works. Sometimes not all the ideas the directors have are great!!
  10. <_< Well I stop thinking about any other camera (mini DV) every since the JVC GYHD 110U came out, now I like SONY but till they get off their butt and smell the coffee for right now the best camera out there for mini DV (my opinion) is the JVC with that lens as close as you can get to a professional one the GY HD 110u is the best one and I am not the only one who say it, I know professional photographers that say the same thing. B) but look around  and buy what you like.
  11. lol...I been trying to get a replica and can't find it.
  12. If you trying to buy a camera I would say with the money you have go with the PANASONIC DVX100B perhaps used and go with nature light or, and I am not a grip and don't want to be either, but I heard you can use 40w bulbs to light your scene now I haven?t try it my self, I let the DP take care of that, I just tell him what I need and the feeling I?m going for. This is just my opinion I'm a Director/writer not a grip, Good Luck! :D
  13. The good thing I like about B&H is that from Texas I don?t have to pay Texas. :D Yes it is a good company and no problems with returns at least I haven?t have a problem with them.
