  1. Four Eyemo? Wow! Can you tell me more about it and if by any chance interested in getting rid of one of them? I'm looking for real portable 35mm movie camera for my personal uses...
  2. I've been looking for small dirt cheap 35mm motion picture cameras for dirt cheap, for personal uses. Been trying ebay but no luck... if anyone want to part their cameras to me please... I'm an assistant trying to enjoy more shooting in a personal level as well as for career enhancement. Thanks
  3. Love how poetic it is visually and how low key everything feels. Night exterior was little noisy but hey... loved it. For the content and given the was RED job, I felt too sharp... maybe using BFX or PM too smoothen overall look? I know if you were to shoot this on on 35 you must have chosen S4s instead of Master Primes. Anyway, really appreciate cinematographers helping materials to be felt not to be looked and flashy(though certain videos kind of have to be that way, like nobody wants to see Britney Spears "organically"). Thank you for a good stuff.
  4. Nice. This kind of ads are all about editing, and you are always expected to get infinite amount of pretty images without concrete direction... but you did it so well, and they cut it to be a visual portrait which "your client" and "agency" were after.
  5. As a feature operator assistant, I'm kind of biased about what music videos should look like...and this one contradicts that, and I like, it's more like a narrative. How ever, it wasn't enough to make it dramatic... good effort though. I think experience will improve. The singer was so cute that I wish you made her look like a million $!
  6. Oh, I'm comparing side by side of Kodak wratten cyan series (I've used many times as behind the lens) and those from Lee Filter book. To my eye and fingers they look and feel relatively the same. I would say that those gels in grip frames are poorer qualities but rather thinner no? Yes I am aware of the fact that BTL changes the flange focal depth by 1.5/1000 of an inch. Completely negligible. Thanks for the note regardless. I will consult with DP tomorrow and figure out what to do.
  7. Starting a movie this week and since we're shooting on Panavision, DP wants to take advantage of behind the lens filters. Hell yes. 2nd assistant cut up N3/6/9, 85&85N3/6/9 and 81EF. Now DP asking me if we can slide non Kodak wratten filters in occasionally, to compensate the overall colors, like 1/4&1/8 CTB, CTO, Straw, as well as Cyan 15 you can find on Lee Filter Book to be used on grip frames. I've used most available Kodak wratten filters but only because those are made to be used in front or behind the lens. I can't find above shades online or at the store, rental houses, etc in NY. B&H is backordered on Cyan 15. Would it be safe to just cut up Lee filter book and make them to be slided? Look and feel safe as long as each gels are clean. Any thoughts? Thanks!
  8. In NY Rubbermaids are quite popular among assistants, especially as a lens cart, and Magliners for many others. Everywhere else tends to be obsessed with Yaeger Sr Carts. Decent productions should offer kit rental for carts and you should make your money back on a feature or two(make like 10- 25/day per cart). Rubbermaids should be about $400-500, Magliner Jr with shelves, stick holders and Micthell Mount should be around $1,200, and Yaeger Sr can be over $2,000 whatever you are willing to spend really. They all should do fine for any size movies.
