  1. Thanks nathan! really some great advice... i will be checking those items soon! thankyou
  2. So i have recently been doing some films shot on dslrs which are great as a student. I have been experimenting with lenses and filters ext. But I have been experimenting with with other camera movement tools like dolly's, sliders, and jibbs. But my biggest weakness and my next investment is on tri-pod heads and legs. But I dont really know where to start. I have my own velbon tri-pod which is whatever, but i shot my last sequence in my film with a oldish manofrotto that my friend let me borrow that he got 3 years back. I loved the feel of it so i did a little research. The price on the manfrotto 501hdv head caught my attention because of the price. But legs I dont really know anything about. And i like the removable head for sliders. So please head me in the direction of a durable and smooth tri-pod! thanks
  3. Hey, so i shot with the t2i with the settings: 24frames shutter- 50 ios 800 and at 2.5 When i just had a actor walk in and sit down on a chair i had a blurry ghost type effect. Is this the way i shot it or a workflow problem
  4. Hey, i have shot 4 films with the 7d and t2i. I love the look and the directors are really impressed but on 3 of the films they dont look as good because because of the audio. The AGC kills the whole film and it wastes lots of time in post trying to fix it. On my last film i shot the h4n and turned out better but my mics do not sound up to sketch. The mics used were the rode video mic and the stereo one. Great for running and gunning but not great on set. Any buddy have suggestions with mics. Please answer! thanks
  5. Should I just upgrade to compact flash cards?
  6. So I have just got off of a shoot with the t2i. But when I brought the footage to the computer, I saw that random " glitching lines" would appear mainy with zoom and pulling focus I recorded on a sandisk class 10 8gb card. The card was full at the end. Is this why. Also the footage was played straight off the computer, hasn't gone through my workflow with m peg stream clip. I think this problem is dropping frames l? Is this happening to anyone else? I might get the 16gb for the problem or is it a waste of money? Please let me know because I have to shoot again this Saturday but I do not want to run into this problem
  7. Hey, Can you please recommend Some good film novels for me.... Around 300 pages. This would be very helpful to me
  8. Ok, so when I plug in my t2i to my mac nothing reads into the computer and the only way I no of getting the files on is through iphoto. But iphoto does not handle the footage well at all. ANd what i see on the internet is that people put there files into there own folder in the finder. Can someone please tell me how to do so... It would really help me a lot thanks, cristian

  10. Why is the canon 50mm a nightmare to manual focus. Because i rarely ever use manual focus. Do you recommend sigma instead because it looks like a better lens. And i heard that canon 50mm f 1.8 is a poorly built lens, not the 1.4 thanks for the help cristian
  11. thanks for the response I originally thought of getting the 1.8 version because it was so cheap. But it is such a bad quality lens so I might as well spend the extra money on a reliable lens that I know is built well and not a plastic little toy. Do you own the canon 50mm 1.4 yourself?
  12. HI everyone, So i have with me the canon rebel t2i with the kit lens. I love the camera but the lens is just not cutting it. I really want one with a nice crisp image and an appropriate shallow DOF. I have been looking at the canon 50mm f 1.4 and that looks nice but I just dont quite know if it cuts the price. I am looking for a nice lens of the price range of 300 to 600 dollars. Please help me on advice for a new lens thanks crisitan

  16. I have recently discovered dslr filmmaking and is wondering what its all about and is it good for shooting video. On the web it talks about having to download programs to upload your footage to your editing software(FCP). But it also says that this new style is alot easier to use. i love the look and size of it. I am thinking about buying the Rebel t2i for my first. So if you have got into DSLR filmmaking can you please respond and give me some tips thanks cristian
