  1. I shot it on eclair NPR u16 with a rokinon 35mm lens obviously with a c to canon ef adapter on 7213 stock.
  2. I just confirmed with Kodak that the new Star Wars trilogy will be on film. So, film is most definitely not dead.
  3. I actually talked to my point of contact in Kodak. She said the trilogy will be on film. Of course, it is still 95 percent since the production is still far ahead, but for now it is locked on film. Also, I heard that they will be using models mostly, which is great news.
  4. I heard rumors that the episode 7 will be shot on film. I wonder if anyone else heard anything about this.
  5. Really? I heard nothing but bad things about Man of Steel.
  6. How was Star Trek? I didn't see it, was hesitant. I wanted to see the latest Suoerman, but heard that it was horrible. I watched Schindler's List and Jeniffer 8 last night. Watching those for the billionth time was like masturbation haha.
  7. Hope so. I kind of stopped going to the movies 5 years ago, except for a few, literally. Lately, movies are all about cgi, remakes of a remake, etc. I miss movies like Seven, Forrest Gump, where there was actually a story.
  8. I just saw an ad for 2 guns. Out of curiosity, looked up its technical specs on imdv; i guess it was shot on 35mm. I wonder if the film is going to be any good. Still, it is great to see another movie shot on 35mm.
  9. https://vimeo.com/69512989 Here is an example of Rokinon 35mm lens on an ultra 16 camera, 2k scan.
  10. And also, sharpness wise, do rokinons hold up well on a big screen? If you were to use it for a festival project. Some people say that those get pretty close to Zeiss glass, is that the case?
  11. Don't they have virtually useless witness marks with false Infiniti mark?
  12. Cinelab in Massachusetts is really good. They have up to 4k capability, and grade on Davinci system.
  13. I am pretty sure "Vera Drake" was shot on Aaton XTR and "The Rum Diary" was shot on 416.
  14. PL mount Pentax? Wow, learning something new everyday haha
  15. "The Rum Diary" used ultra primes. "Vera Drake" used Cooke s4s. Cooke has a few wide angle lenses in their s4 series to complement for their 35mm format s4s. This way, when shooting on s16, you can have a matching Cooke s4 lenses from wide to tele. Then again, those aren't exactly SLR lenses... haha.
  16. There are some movies that were shot on super 16 with 35mm format lenses. For example, "The Rum Diary" and "Vera Drake" were shot with Ultra Primes and Cooke s4 lenses respectively. They appear pretty sharp and pleasing to me...
  17. Nowadays people try too hard to nominate the "best" camera. I think it is pretty absurd to do that, because, every story callsfor different camera system.
  18. Also, look at other movies like Hangover. Part 2 was shot on digital, and 3 is back on film. Amazing Spider man was shot on digital, and the second one is back on film. Superman Returns was shot digitally and the latest one is back on film. Star Trek is on film. The Lone Ranger was shot on Alexa for interior scenes and 35 for exteriors, how come? Isn't digital's dynamic range supposed to be pretty much equal to film? Ling story short, I am really glad that film is here with us...
  19. Gregg, Here is a picture of the lens. It is quite small, so notice the spacer ring etc to make it work with matteboxes.
