  1. Yep, totally, but in less than a year they're already on V2 of the design, it's not advertised on their website yet. The lentequip battery they'll need to make their adapter work costs as much as the adapter, so you're talking spending $1000 for a product that is not yet fully matured. I'm waiting till they figure out a way to have it all in one.
  2. Hey all, I'm chiming in as I'm myself looking for a charger. I'm currently using the Lentequip and it seems to be frying my 1.5ah cells. The charging current is 2amps or 3amps depending on the pin configuration. Someone recommended me the PAG charger, but when I look at the specs of the AR304 it appears the charging current is 4amps which is even higher than the Lentequip. Does anyone have an opinion on the charging current? I have a 4Ah Lentequip NiMH battery that charges fine on the Lente charger and 4 1.5Ah NiCd "ARRI original recelled" batteries that I'm not able to charge safely as I stand. I feel like for those batteries a charging of 500mA would be ideal but I can't seem to find anything like that. I'm thinking of purchasing one of the original ARRI NCL chargers but they take 7 hours to charge ... I'm curious to know if anyone has had any issues with the PAG charger on the lower capacity ARRI NiCd cells (1.2Ah - 1.5Ah). Thanks for your time, Toto.
  3. Hi and thanks for your response, I did the measurements with an attached empty mag. The measurements would be different with actual film in there and thank you for asking for clarification. I might find expired film and redo the tests then, I'll update this post when I do so.
  4. Hi, I wanted to share the following measurements I did on my SR-3 camera package. Might come handy when you're trying to determine your battery needs and expected turnaround on set, and/or for those who have battery recell projects like me currently. . Idle: 0.09A . Idle + IVS: 0.40A . 24fps: 0.35A . 24fps + IVS: 0.67A . 75fps: 0.65A . 75fps + IVS: 1.01A (2.00A peak charge at start) . Idle + RCU-1: 0.12A . 24fps + RCU-1: 0.38A . 24fps + IVS + RCU-1: 0.72A . 75fps + IVS + RCU-1: 1.05A Best, Toto
  5. Hello, I wanted to know if anyone has had an experience with the following recell service: http://www.bbmbattery.com/broadcast-professional-video-batteries/2274-broadcast--professional-video-batteriesarri-sr3-ni-mh-extended.html Best regards and thanks for your input, Toto
  6. Hi all, about the 2-perf movement, I was pretty sure the 353B could do it, but I haven't find documentation about anything tighter than 3-perf. Any inputs on the 535B ? Best, Toto
  7. Hi All, I'm falling short on that topic and decided to post here after trying to put informations together unsuccessfully. The general concept is to be buy an old onboard standard video monitor (for the Arri IVS / SR-3 camera) and feed it power and video by one cable only. I know I can always use a BNC composite interface + separate power, but I'd like to know more about the nuts and bolts anyway. I suspect the name for the Mini Monitor connector ont he IVS is a Lemo 4 pin. I gradually got to understand that this connection was used by Transvideo on the starlite monitor, or on others via a the Hirose connector (Cine 3 or a rainbow 2). I wonder if it would be possible to input a y/c (so better quality than composite, but is it really worth the hustle ?) + power (12V) (only one cable in the end) from the camera using the mini-monitor port and a cable connecting to a Hirose 10 or 6 (whether it's the Cine 3 or rainbow 2). I think the Mini-Monitor out on the IVS doesn't do Y/c (but might be wrong) but so to get Y/c+power I'd have to make a breakout cable from the Hirose to 1bnc Y / 2 bnc C / RS connector (Lemo 2 ?). Does anyone have experience with this 10+ years old technology and could comment (any advices on the choice between the rainbow 2 or the Cine 3 by the way) ? Looking forward to reading from you, Toto
  8. 1. yes 2. 400 3. 1 4. 0.5/mo 5. thinking of it but not really prepared for it yet. Depends on the project as well. I would be interested to see a few motion picture tests online with the zone readings you had on set, just to get an idea of the behavior of the film. I leave the whole processing / QC discussion aside, I'm not qualified yet to discuss it. I'd be excited to shoot anything for a try if you can provide professional processing options (either in an existing film lab in L.A. or having the exposed film fly back to you and you deal with it). I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'd be happy to be somehow part of this.
  9. Hi, check the AFI, it's majorly looking for people with a first experience in the industry, while UCLA doesn't (for instance). Your problem will be demonstrating a passion for narrative film making. Chapman may be a good option.
  10. HI Aybek, Everything is available on their website. If you're a foreigner you have to take intensive Polish classes in the first year. Unlike many schools around the world, the admission is based on a test, that occurs in september. You have to translate your highschool diploma in Polish by a certified translator You have to take an appointment for a preliminary consultation, these are held during march and april, you need to bring your creative work with you. Lodz is a good affordable option when you don't hold a University degree yet. Though I don't know what kind of doors the diploma opens in the industries around the world. http://www.filmschool.lodz.pl/pages/view/629-cinematography goodluck.
