  3. I can see it would and did work but at the same time its funny. I thought I was the only one that did these kind of things. I am the first generation off the farm so my Dad taught me to be self sufficient and fix things with all kinds of available things. We had horses so we had baling wire and I can do a lot of stuff with baling wire and gaffer tape. My wife and son always love my quick solutions.
  4. I remain a carbon based human and therefore there is an innate preference for carbon based things like food and film over silicon based things like digital images that lack some unidentifiable something when you look at them. It is that there is something there that feels too much and something there that feels missing. But I have a vintage brain that is on its way to obsolete by choice, and I still need Doms Cine Tinker articles that I saved in pdf form for reference when the memory fails me.
  5. Chewing gum will work too just place four well chewed chunks on the edge of the lens and apply the filter.
  6. WoolRich makes a so called tactical parka that is an awesome component for a self made system. It has a multitude of pockets in side and out , both Velcro and zipper closures, internal elastic restraints in pockets for stuff you don't wish to drop and it is windproof water proof. It is light enough to wear at 50 with out sweating. I then use a variation of a full fleece hoodie, a fleece vest, a sweat shirt, a m65. Field jacket, a puff parka, a puff vest under neath it to adapt for the given situation. I just love the flexibility it provides me, and I am very sensitive to heat so I need cooling all the time even in the snow
  7. I am always interested in Arri S although if your desire is to make profit rather than asset conversion I may be the wrong person.
  8. They are x-ray camera used in cardiac catheterization and other interventional radiolgy procedures. The parts from the one i bought work great on my 35IIc
  9. You know thats a double press switch one starts it the next press stops it. The brightness of the red light on the back is indicative of the level of charge of the battery. The EBM does not do well with a low charge so if the battery is too old it may read the correct voltage but the amps are so low it will not operate. I have seen batteries recently for 150. I have two ebms one with a new battery one with an old battery so I have been shopping
  10. I would like to sell one of my Arriflex 35IIC and a Arri Blimp for it. If there is interest I will post photos. Other things I put up had no interest so I thought I would save time. Both are pristine I will entertain any genuine offers.
  11. Yes Bil that was me I love your web site by the way wish I had a need for a web site I would have you make one!
  12. ebay is not the best place to buy or sale but its like the only place now. This thing with taking all the lenses off cameras drives my fung sui, or whatever you call it for cameras, nuts. I know I am older then the fung whatever so to me its simple OCD or need for order in the universe. It does not matter to me if the sell or don't I just thought I would put stuff I don't use up for sale a little at a time.
  13. I forgot to add I put my spare Arri periscope viewer up too
  14. I put a bunch of magazines for sale on eBay and even @45.00 each no one is interested even though folks are listing them for three for $189.00. So I still have them up.
  15. I am just curious why the cosmetics is an issue unless you want to sell it? Of course reflections could be a problem, and sometimes it's a principal akin to wearing a white shirt, in that it makes you take on a more professional attitude. I know far afield but I just wondered?
  16. If you don't want it after the finish you could certainly recover your investment either as a package or breaking it up, I would say it's priced right. Who is your operator and DP?
  17. True Gareth, too true, I started working on dirt bikes when I was 14 and inevitably had a number of spare screws and even pieces when I would finish, This carried through until the cars got to complicated to play with. Now when I work on cameras I shoot pictures as I go like leaving a trail through the jungle to back track.
