  1. Hi David! I've seen your posting on several sites and I wanted to begin by saying thank you for taking time to share your knowledge and experience. I have two questions.. What types of diffusion were you using over the lights to create the hard shadows yet beautiful skin? I understand that the netting in front of the lens helps soften it all. Secondly, what sources did you use most to fill your medium/close up shots? I.e. bounce from a back light or a dimmed/soft frontal source etc. The images from this film are astounding and inspiring. Once again, thank you.
  2. I just bought 3 Desisti Magis 650's (can use 300w, 500w or 650w bulbs!) off of eBay for $150 each! No piece of equipment is perfect, the Desisti lights aren't without their quirks but for an affordable light, its amazing and a great place to start! Best of luck!
  3. Hi Phil, thank you! You helped shape my decision and the lamps you suggested do work with these Source Fours.
  4. Hi Guys! I've found some decently priced Source Fours (HID 150w) and I'm looking for anyone with experiences or opinions on the HID version of the source fours. I understand they are not dimmable and have a cri of about 85, so I'm debating whether to purchase the more expensive tungsten version or get the cheaper HID version available. I plan on using them to create "harsh daylight" through windows and maybe as a bounced key etc. Looking for any thoughts/experiences/suggestions. Thank you.
