  1. Wondering if anyone would offer some feedback on this?? Curious to know some thoughts on the cinematography and edit. I do know the actors where not prepared by the director and i have to cringe when i see the "punches". Cheers, curtis
  2. Interesting thread, .. my question becomes, what if your style and the directors style are complete opposites? Example, Director likes MANY camera movements, zooms etc, .. and you are more trying to keep the camera from being noticed and interfering w the story? Are there times when you should just say you're not comfortable? how do you handle these? I realize we have to pay bills, eat etc, .. but is there a time when you shouldn't? I guess a good producer wouldn't put two opposites together, and you'd find these things out in Pre.
  3. Hi gang, Sharing a preproduction teaser I shot on Epic-W and edited in FCPx. Currently in pre-production a feature about the tough guys that fight wars and the emotional burden they carry. https://vimeo.com/204118658
  4. I'll take the opportunity to thank you for all you do here. I haven't been here long so i'm still reading through 100's of threads. I'm not new to cinematography/photography but sure as heck learning much from many areas here. I'm glad it's not a troll feast here like it is on so many other boards. Curtis
  5. Wow, you do realize the sad and critical state the paper clip is in. It's in true danger of extinction and we need to do everything we can to ashore its survival. ? Quite an interesting topic ( thread not the paper clip ) Seems to be a constant sore spot for me because i'm always trying to do the best job i can as a DP, and sometimes the producers just don't care as much. Showed up early for my call time on a recent shoot to find out,, no actress,, no one bothered to collect the props that are in the script. However the producer did invite 10 friends and get a few cases of beer ?? What do you do w that? do crappy work and leave w a paycheck? Really tough for me to do that. curtis
  6. David what is a good lens finder?
  7. so my question becomes, ... from reading this thread, .. what is a good LED that is equivalent to a 2K tungsten Fresnel ??? something a "student" can afford?
  8. hi gang, just started back into motion, .. haven't shot any for many years. produced this short little piece for a charity event. there will be a 10-15 minute full doc to follow. <iframe src="https://player.vimeo.com/video/169240567"width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen></iframe> <p><a href="https://vimeo.com/169240567">END-22 Bike</a> from <a href="https://vimeo.com/curtisboggs">Curtis Boggs</a> on <a href="https://vimeo.com">Vimeo</a>.</p>
