Hi everyone, I am about to shoot a feature and the second camera that I am getting is an A-Minima. But for the purpose of the shoot I won't be able to look through the viewfinder so I am really relying on the Video Tap for framing. But I am not sure how great the BW video tap is for lowlight situations with 500T outdoors and a lot of NDs. So far I have 2 ideas that are at my disposal not sure if either one of them works. 1) Try to fit a Denz VCSC D2000 video tap on the the camera but I think that might defeat the purpose of the camera being small. 2) I have a GoPro10 with a C-mount (I have attached a photo). Not sure if when the original BW Video Tap is removed if it could be somehow be custom modified to accept the C-Mount GoPro. Or to somehow attach the GoPro directly to the viewfinder? What is the mount on the A-Minima that accepts the video tap, is there a name or is it something proprietary to Aaton? The GoPro sensor size is 1/2.3 (6.17 x 4.55 mm) is this too small to cover the whole frame? My main question is if you remove the original video tap from the camera could you not shim/modify it so that you get to the right flange distance and fit the GoPro. I prefer the GoPro because it's a lot smaller. If you have any experience on using GoPros as video taps please let me know what you think! Thanks a lot!

Hi everyone, I recently shot some tests on Kodak 7219 and 7207 and had an X-Rite Video chart in the shot. I was hoping that when I bring the footage in Resolve and go to the Color page and select my chart from the Color Match settings everything would work out nicely. But I ended up having very funky colours, I am not sure if it is because this is a more digital chart or something else. Another thing that I wasn't sure was my source gamma (I guess the scanner's one) but I tried all the options available and still not luck. The 2 scanners that I have tested this on are ArriScan and LaserGraphics Director 10K. From the first I got 4K DPX files log and from the LG I got 2k ProRes 4444 log. What am I doing wrong? Thanks! @Adrian Sierkowski what would the DPs use the Polaroids on set for back then? Is it to judge exposure and contrast ratios? I think I remember reading somewhere that Kubrick used to take polaroids before every scene to check roughly what it would look like but I am not sure maybe I am making this up. Another thing that again I am not sure if I am making it up is that Matthew Libatique apparently used a 5D with a "film" lut on it to judge exposure too. Anyway I am curious on what you meant. You would need 2 lights, 1 for the actor and 1 for your background the 60W light. Your background light you place to the side and just try and flag it off so it doesn't hit your talent but only the wall behind him and with the other light you light your actor.

It's because I came across this in another thread. "If you buy the book second hand, then make sure if you will use the first or the second edition of the Arricam LT. If you will use a second edition camera, then buy the second edition of the book. In this edition also the new features are explained." Actually he wasn't referring to the camera as a generation but an edition not sure what he meant by this. I guess its better to just try and buy the second edition? Thanks

Hi guys, Sorry to dig up the old thread. I am looking to buy the Arricam Book but I am having a hard time deciding if I should get the 1st or 2nd generation. I have an upcoming shoot with an LT 2-perf (still searching for it). But I am not sure yet if the LT is 1st or 2nd generation. To be honest up until today I didnt know there were 2 generations of the LT. Should I just go for the second generation? Thanks!

Hi everyone, I am also looking to buy the book but I am not sure on which LT I will be shooting with I just know that we're currently looking for a 2-perf one. Is there a big difference between Arricam LT First generation and Second Generation. To be honest I've been searching online to understand the differences between Arricam LT 1st & 2nd generation but I cant find anything. Is it smarter to just purchase the second edition of the book? Hi everyone, I have 2 mags for my XTR and recently noticed that one of them is missing a small triangle part. Mag "A" has it and mag "B" is missing it. Is this something that I should worry about and try to fix or its fine without it? Thanks!
