  2. hi Londonfilmman, may be you've got a pc and try to download the last quicktime version with http://www.01net.com/outils/telecharger/wi...es/tele100.html (with this site you can get all the codec for pc computer, if you go to quicktime site you can't get all the last codec for pc)try and tell me! I'm sorry for this contretemps, i did it with the compression rate H-264. regards Mikael.
  3. hi Orestis, you will not have any problems using ultra primes shooting on s16 for 35mm blow up, because they have a very good resolution. but you will still have the s16mm deph of field because of the circle of confusion (0,0125mm). have a good shoot. regards Mikael.
  4. Hi pmbooks, the tittle means"camera operating, development and printing film", if i can find it, i'll keep you up dated! regards Mikael
  5. hi orestis, S16 lens like zeiss t1.3 is enought for the format. to blow up the film with success take care about exposure and use the finest sensibility film stock you can! 7201,7212 by exemple. best Mikael.
  6. hi, here are some footage from a series of three short movies, shoot last summer mikael. showreel
  7. hi Jmetzger, aaton LTR : fixed shutter angle : 180°. mikael.
  8. hi shubhendu - aparajita, may be www.panavision.com and www.kodak.com.... regards mikael.
  9. Hi lama, the easier is shooting an LCD screen. are you 50hz or 60hz power supply? 25fps with 50hz, 30 fps with 60. and shoot with a cinematography precision speed control I or II and push phase knob until get rid of frame line. regard Mikael.
  10. hi Travis, If you can, do some test with and without push-process to see the grain (and lab's work) your final product is a video so don't worry about 29's grain, is fine enought. I used to shoot by night with a super speed lens T:1.3 and 29 :this is recreate what I see. best Mikael.
  11. hi robert, if your 2m is centered for sound aperture, like the panaflex you 'd better re-draw on the 2m ground glass the good aspect ratio (1.85:1 is 0.825"x0.446") and shoot a framing chart for each camera for telecinema. best. mikael.
  12. hi alejo, with tungsten film, and fluo lamp, put a FL-B filter in front of your lens and forget the green look... good shoot. Mikael
  13. hi, a cool box can be usefull not direct sun exposed . best.. mikael
  14. hi bulletsq, without money shoot with an hdv video camera, with money shoot with a movie camera(16 or 35). -shoot in desert is like shoot under rain, use a cover rain and other plastic bag to struggle against the sand(avoid shooting when it's windy!). -film stock: 7201 or 5201 for the day shoot with nd filters 0.3 ;0.6;0.9 and 1.2. and light reflector. 7229 or 5229 for the night shoot with ultra speed lens using at full stop. and additional low lighting -romantic use soft fx filter (or hair spray on clear glass or stockings direct on lens : do some test before for reaching the picture you want). and max open stop for focusing just on the romantics looks (use nd filter). -with no professional player , tell them to make fun themselves, don't tell them when you'r shooting and only after many rehearsal, when you feel it... - 1 day or 20 days, try to do your best, and over all a good script continuity for a good understanding story... have a good shoot... mikael
  15. hi ...mokey..., Like Paul's answers, experience is better than any methods. i use to work with a contrast glass b&w (for any film), i like it and with my light meter of course. for each shoot i can learn somethings. and when i don't shoot i use my sunglass for seeing high light.. for seeing light ... best. Mikael.
  16. http://wwwfr.kodak.com/global/fr/service/p...ml?pq-path=1148 hi, his is a french article about x ray, i think you can find the same with the us website of kodak. i think that your film supplier (kodak may be) know the right shipper compagny. if you don't have a full of rolls you can travel with these. the X ray rate is light (no effect on the film)for the hand suitcase (don't forget the changing bag for the customs officer, and you can deal no x ray). forget the register suitcase because of the x ray rate is big and kill the film (picture washed). no x ray is better of course! have a good ship... happy new year. Mikael
  17. hi, i looking for some advices for shooting with a F900 in a studio with a green back ground... thanks Mikael
  18. Hi Stephen, This is just a little tips for shooting snow. I've seen all the good advices you received in the film stock forum. 7245 for saturation and detail is very good. For the dreaming scene shoot one stop over the exposure. To get more detail of the snow, increase your exposure time (faster speed or close the shutter), and to keep the skin tone, use a Haze filter and a polarizer. With these ingredients, find your t-stop (if the depth of field permits it). Use ND's filters on top of that, and I would advise you to shoot at Ø 4 max (that will increase the dreaming sensation). Have a good shoot. Mikael.
  19. hi Edmoore, factory settings in film preset shooting 25p rating the f900 at iso 320 with 0db gain. factory settings in film preset shooting 25p rating the 750p at iso 320 with -3db gain. (near iso 500 with 0db gain, you win half a stop with the 750p) good shoot, Mikael.
  20. HI SARFARAZ, i work with a professional SPECTRA IV. it's great. best. Mikael.
  21. hi Sarfaraz, i've ever shoot in b/w, and i use the 7231, with an unbelievable latitude exposure. for interior don't be afraid by your light meter use your pan glass and if you can see light you 've got it in your film with t1.3 zeiss. for outside listen your light meter. good luck. Mikael.
  22. hi, for shooting in night vision, shoot with a 5279 (500t) kodak with a t-stop at 1.3 (zeiss distagon by ex) and you can shoot (24fps)exactly what you see during the night. for day for night: under expose 2 stop your film during shooting. have a good shoot.
  23. there is no leak to the film, because the glow is only for the view finder. the best way to check it and to be sure is to shoot with the max glow at the lowest speed with a cap on your cameras, and checking the film back from the lab. have a good shoot.
  24. hi, i've got a chinon 672, and i wonder what is the exposed time for each frame, and what is his speed 18 or 24. i thank you. Mikael.
