  1. I totally agree. I've had over 130 transactions on ebay dating back to 1997, but I've had 2 bad selling experiences in the past couple of months. Not to say that scamming hasn't existed since eBay started, but I now know that ebay/paypal offer little or no seller protection, and no doubt little or no buyer protection either. BEWARE!
  2. can't you crop it in post?

    seeking K3

tried ebay? I had to buy mine from Russia by the way
  4. What about lesser known music that might be from a small indie label? Could somebody just go to the label and maybe contact the performer and work things out through there, cut and dry?
  5. I say get a k-3. It's cheap, well designed, the lens is pretty good, it's cheap, and it's fun to play with. K3's haven't quite become the lomo cameras of cinema yet, so you can get one for under 200 dollars I think off of ebay usually. I also have an NPR... Some love NPRs and others think it's too old. I will just say that as long as it is quiet, has proper registration and timing I can handle the other headaches involved with it. Just remember that lenses will cost 1000-10000+ to buy 100-300/day to rent

    Eclair NPR

It'll definitely cover some focal lengths. I dont know how wide you can go with it though. I think a 4x4 mattebox can cover s16 down to about 11mm though, which is pretty good. The eclair mattebox might be narrower however. I ended up getting an incomplete chrosziel mattebox off of ebay and jerry rigging a solid lens adapter ring to it. Seems to work out pretty well, but I still need a french flag for it !
  7. some place has put the actual film stock into film cartridges so that you can shoot on a 35mm photo camera.. Forgot where though. If somebody knows please post!
  8. They look awesome, but if they are the same dedolights that I see on froogle then they cost thousands of dollars! http://froogle.google.com/froogle?btnG=Sea...dolight&show=dd
  9. David thanks for the explanation. The police office was quite large so replacing the lamps with kinos was probably over budget. Was strange that the windows weren't gelled though if that's all that was required. Is it hard to gel windows from the inside? Is there some type of adhesive gel that can be used?
  10. DJD thanks for the reply! That kit you mentioned sounds nice but I'm a bit off of the beaten path in north carolina.. Nearest cities are all 100 miles from here so I'm sortof at a disadvantage as far as readily available rentals are concerned. What do you think of Par-64s? Most light for the money they are
  11. yeah dont forget that most of the videos that they will get will be of the pop stars that he mentioned!
  12. Aparently they are both the same thing, although it's debatable http://64.233.161.104/search?q=cache:Hn7xI...tographer&hl=en
  13. They also make your camera look badass, although they can cost a lot
  14. ebay can bet good... Just don't get some of that stuff from the 50s!
  15. This is a little off-topic but how do the 500t's match up?
  16. wow those wedding vids are great, and the still from your sister's wedding looks very very nice. I'm sure your sister will love it as her groom looks like a fashion designer
  17. I was watching this movie ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118548/ ) today at work, and I noticed that the fluorescent lights for the police office scenes were white, but the windows (presumably where sunlight was coming in) were all purple! I'm thinking that the cinematographer put an FL filter on, but I was expecting him to shoot with an FL-B and use tungsten, but with the purple haze, I guess he used an FL-D? I Would like to know if anybody would know which setup would cause this.. Also... how can the purple haze be avoided for this type of setup?
  18. willing to give any of that away? I need some film to practice loading my mags with
  19. hello yeah i'd definitely take it. PM me please
  20. there isnt' a solution that can dissolve it? I don't wnat to buff it
  21. I put a smudge on my lens and the glass is perfect so.. what can I do to remove the smudge without risking any sort of cleaning mark?
  22. oh yeah definitely My mother didn't get it right and she majored in french in college.. go figure
  23. Right on Laurent! This has bothered me ever since I researched their lenses(i'm sure I'm not the only one). You'd hear me pronounce it 5 different ways, just never could decide on the proper way, and I"m a francophile so it was well.. irritating Merci beaucoup!
  24. Hmm I think you've got me on to it, although the phonetical spelling's thrown me off! I have been pronouncing it: 'on'- 'zjeh' (think the first sound in the name Georges or Jaques) - 'neeyo' or just sortof 'no' like in bordEAUX. You're the one I was hoping would help me out with this
