  1. The inner diameter is 24,6mm and the outer diameter is about 33mm (a bit hard to measure precisely with what I've got).
  2. Just as an update: Even though it looks different, the dimensions seem to be the same for newer cameras with the upgraded viewfinder system (like the IIC or 16ST models).
  3. Just have a look at the manual linked in the first post. The camera uses Super 8 cartridges.
  4. I still wonder if they even would be able to 'do some R&D'. I mean, when Vision3 was ready for release, the R&D team might have had a pretty good idea about what comes next. Probably they were already doing experiments and had several promising long-term research projects that all together could lead to a new level of film quality. But I guess most, if not all of these people are long gone. Either they were laid off during difficult times or they simply hit retirement age. As bad as it sounds: The knowledge might simply no longer exist.
  5. I often wonder if Kodak still has a research department that would be able to come up with new or improved film stocks. Will we ever see Kodak Vision4?
  6. Does anyone know where I could get a new and affordable rubber eyecup for my Arriflex IIA? I recently got the camera and the old eyecup is falling apart (as it is probably the case with a lot of them that are older).
  7. Do you have any cables for the 3-phase motor? You could just run it with a VFD.
  8. I suggested that because I thought that he might have been given some more recent aftermarket (maybe even crystal sync) motor without its control unit. Once seeing the picture it obviously became clear that that is not the case.
  9. No, that is not a BLDC motor. Maybe it is something like the synchronous motors that were sold with ARRI cameras? But that would need an external box as well. Sorry, I can't help you with that, but I am sure that someone here is familiar with these things.
  10. Is it a brushless DC motor that you got? If thats the case you might be able to get it running just by using any cheap BLDC controller. Photos of the motor and its labels would help.
  11. I am just asking out of curiosity: Has there ever been a director's viewfinder that would take ARRI standard mount lenses?
  12. I'd like to add one thing here: If anyone knows of any videos/pictures on the internet of someone taking apart a Zeiss Standard Speed MkI with ARRI Standard Mount, I would highly appreciate a link to that! But I suspect that there is nothing, as I have been googling about it quite some time.
  13. Since I made that post I had a good look at many eBay auction pictures as well as YouTube videos of people showing their cameras. I am under the impression that the felt is gone in almost all of the magazines that I have seen so far. Probably people removed it the moment it failed and never replaced it, as it works well without it. But that is just my guess.
  14. So you are saying that pushing does nothing that could not have been achieved after scanning as well?
  15. Interesting thought! I think I'll go by it unless someone gives a better explanation ?
  16. Makes sense. What I am curious about: The presumably older version has this ring with red and green arrows that say T and F. Do you know what this is for? (I guess it has something to do with t- and f-stops, but I cannot really make a lot of sense of it)
  17. Talking about the 25mm: Can someone tell me the difference between these two lenses? #1: https://www.ebay.de/itm/225551040160 #2: https://www.ebay.de/itm/225553608825
  18. It probably is (actually, that is what I am trying to find out as well). I am just curious, because the Distagon 8mm f2.0 is listed and that is a 16mm lens as well.
  19. Thanks, that is a great source of information indeed! What I am wondering right now: Is the Zeiss Planar 25mm f2.0 not considered to be a "Standard Speed"? Because I see no mentioning of it and I also did find it missing in other listings on the internet before.
  20. I am also still trying to distinguish these Zeiss Standard speed lenses with ARRI standard mount. A lot of them can be found with and without the red T* mark. To my understanding this just says something about improved coating, so the T*-lenses should be the more modern ones? But then again, they are still called MkI lenses?
  21. I recently had a look at my ARRI 16ST 122m magazine and realized that the glue used for the felt band had become brittle. So the the band became loose and also there was glue residue (brown crumbs) everywhere in the magazine. For now I just removed the band and and cleaned up all of the residue. I think I can use it as it is by just taping up the magazine every time I use it. My question: Does anyone have a recommendation on what material should be used for replacing the band?
  22. Well, I would have never come up with the idea to look at dog leashes... thanks Uli, I will get one of these as well!
  23. Thank you, Dom! That was the kind of professional insight that I was hoping for. I will leave them untouched for now; if I should ever give it a try, I will post about my experience here.
