Joe Saadeh
Hello Everyone,I have a few questions to ask, Ill be shooting a web series next week and i would like to be using the most out of the C300 and shoot C-log my only problem is that you can't send a LUT out of the SDI from c300.Any monitors you can recommend that has built-in C-log LUT ?my other question is regarding frame-rate I live in a Pal region ; although this is a web-series and not a broadcast thing i wanted to know if i shoot 23.97 fps would affect this. I'm asking this because I'll be using some HMI fixtures and shooting with fluorescent light. Many thanks Joe Saade
Premium Member Aapo Lettinen Posted May 9, 2014 Premium Member Share Posted May 9, 2014 if you are using 1/50 or 1/100 shutter speed the flicker is not a problem at any frame rate
Premium Member Phil Rhodes Posted May 9, 2014 Premium Member Share Posted May 9, 2014 I'd consider shooting at 25. It isn't noticeably different-looking, it obviates problems with lighting flicker and it can easily be retimed to 24, and thence to 30 if you need that at any point. Monitors tend not to have built-in LUTs, but allow you to upload one. You can also get something like a Blackmagic HDlink (I own one) which you can use to convert your camera's SDI signal to DVI and run it into a normal computer monitor or similar for a reasonable approximation of the same thing.
