Jude Dulake Posted September 6, 2024 Posted September 6, 2024 Hi there, I've been working on an easier way to power my Arri-S through a V-mount battery and an 8volt adapter. However when I assembled this all together the camera fired up for a few minutes and then stopped dead. I have tested the cable going to the camera with a multimeter and it is reading 8volts but the contact going to the motor while switched on is reading something like 0.12 volts. I have read the manual and it talks about resetting the buckle switch which I've tried to do with no result. Has anyone else has their Arri-S die on them like this? I'm not sure if I'm not resetting the buckle switch properly or if something has broken within the camera. I haven't used it in two years so maybe its due a service. Any advice is really appreciated 🙂
Mark Dunn Posted September 6, 2024 Posted September 6, 2024 Is it possible that the battery is not holding a charge?
Jude Dulake Posted September 6, 2024 Author Posted September 6, 2024 Yeah it could be that I suppose. I haven't tested it with a full charge yet so I'll charge it overnight and test tomorrow
Premium Member Steven Jackson Posted November 12, 2024 Premium Member Posted November 12, 2024 Have a look in here and make sure current is arriving at the switch and that the switch is working properly. Sometimes the parts here break and there is no longer continuity.
