TV Frame Rate in New Zealand

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone !

I'm French and i'm thinking to move to New Zealand to look at some jobs in the industry out there.

I know already that New Zealand is on 50Htz and 220V.

I'm wondering if the video signal/video frame rate is the same as in Europe : PAL ?

In fact, can i burn a DVD of my demo reel here in France and be able to watch it easily on any screen out there.

Thanks to your response.

Have a nice day.

Hi,

NZ is region code 4. Get a region free player. (Usually a software hack)

The full list:-

REGION 1 -- USA, Canada

REGION 2 -- Japan, Europe, South Africa, Middle East, Greenland

REGION 3 -- S.Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Parts of South East Asia

REGION 4 -- Australia, New Zealand, Latin America (including Mexico)

REGION 5 -- Eastern Europe, Russia, India, Africa

REGION 6 -- China

REGION 7 -- Reserved for Unspecified Special Use

REGION 8 -- Resevered for Cruise Ships, Airlines, etc...

REGION 0 or REGION ALL -- Discs are uncoded and can be played Worldwide

australia and new zealand have both DVD Region 4, standard framerate is 25fps, video standard is PAL.

good luck with the kiwis, the country is beautiful and the people are really nice, but the industry is very small from what ive heard.
