Bob Hayes
I really wanted to see this picture in the theaters as it was one of the first major films shot on the Genesis. Unfortunately I missed it so I have been looking forward to seeing it on DVD. Warning Spoiler. IT SUCKS! I thought any problems with the projected image would be fixed in the DVD. I was wrong. The worst part of the look was the flesh tones. The actors just looked like cadavers. Newton Thomas Sigel is an excellent DP so I really don?t think it was his fault. Also they gave Superman the phoniest blue contact lenses that made his eyes look like doll eyes. Ouch. The script was non existent. And apparently the dislike for America has grown so great on the world market that the film makers omitted ?and the American Way? at the end of ?Truth, Justice, and the American Way?. Did I mention they made Superman?s cape Burgundy instead of red? What wre they thinking?
Jozo Zovko
Hello People always comment on the bad colors and weird skin tones etc Word of advice for all future watchers of Superman Returns Take a look at this image made by Alex Ross (and others if you'd like) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9...yAlexRoss02.jpg Then see the film again You'll understand why the skin and the colors etc were MADE to look like that Have a good day Joe Zovko Camera Dept LA, CA
Jonathan Bowerbank
I didn't notice anything wrong with the projected image when I saw it in the theatre. I'll have to see the DVD to know if there's any veracity to your statement though. My only problem was the very last effects shot of Superman flying through the clouds, it just didn't look realistic. It was like a plastic doll flying through a videogame.
Morgan Peline
Hi, I do have to admit that sometimes the skintones did look a bit plasticy when I watched it at the cinema...

J. Lamar King IMPOSTOR
the skintones did suck and so did anything involving Lois Lane. Cut her out and you got a good film. I thought the film was fantastic actually. I really liked how they spend a lot of time with Superman in HIS environment. You really get a since of the different perspective he has of the world. They got the physics of the action right especially in the sequence where he tries to stop the plane from hitting the ground. There is a shot there right after the wing breaks off where he regains his flight then shoots away after the plane. That shot feels so freaking real. Maybe the best CGI shot ever to my eyes. There is also a great circling CGI shot in there that is sort of long-lens & shakey, seeing him (as a tiny figure) fly to the nose of the plane, feels almost like an ENG cameraman watching at a distance from a circling helicopter.
