Daniel Carruthers
Hey I just got a bunch of old 16mm film for free, and I keep hearing mixed opions on storing it, I put it in the deep freez, which is really cold, should I just keep it in the fridge or a regular freezer. Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted March 4, 2008 Premium Member Share Posted March 4, 2008 For short term, Fridge is fine, for long term freezer. The faster the ASA the more it should go into deep freeze, but 500T should last pretty well for a few months in the normal fridge. When in doubt, have a lab clip test it. I'll keep it in the freezer, its really old, and is a medium speed, 320t. And might be a few months before I use it.

Freya Black
thanks for clearing that up. The freezer is the place but put it in a ziplock freezer bag first to seal it from any possible water vapour. I get the impression this film might be really, really old. If so it's probably not worth clip testing as it will fail but keep in mind it will probably come out a bit weird. Theres lots of threads on this subject if you look through the archives. love Freya
