JD Hartman
Besides Backstage Equipment, can anyone suggest other makers of equipment carts? Looking for some alternative designs (taco, grip, stand, etc.), USA East or West coast.
Jon Rosenbloom
Modern Studio Equipment, Whitey's Welding (Might be retired.) Mutual Hardware in Queens probably sells some makes under their own name. I bet the fellow at Modern will make them to your specs. David Erlichman
http://hollywoodcartsandracks.com/ Never used them, but their website looks nice. Whitney's (Ron Sal) website went down last year. Don't know if they're around anymore. Most stuff is mutated Backstage made locally. Any carts you can copy?
Premium Member Andrew Rawson Posted March 27, 2008 Premium Member Share Posted March 27, 2008 Rob Cheung here in LA is cranking out some of the nicest custom carts out there. Just tell him what you need and he will custom design it and build it for you. His work is getting so well known that the Beverly Hills Police Department contacted him about building some gun carts for them :) He does it on the side so if you want to contact him send me a message and I will let him know and either give you his number or have him get in contact with you. I wouldn't want to post his number here without his consent. Andy
ChrisConnelly
As far as the east coast places mentioned above, Ron Sal is no longer around and Mutual is just a dealer for Backstage. Hollywood Racks and Carts has some pretty awesome stuff
