Thanks for the "hint" about your film screening at Cambridge. Provided that I can wrap a shoot at the marvelous Jodrell Bank in the first half of that week in time (it's a matter of weather), I will try my best to get back south in time for Cambridge, as I have some other business to do at that local uni there.

Will you be there, attending the screening in person? Is anyone else from ciny.com going?

I will attend too. My friend Heiko Riemann and I made a film that will be in the competition. Hope to see you there!

it would be cool to see your film ("Kodachrome" right?) as well as Steve Hyde's "Shikashika." Lots of other interesting S8 films as well. Wouldn't mind seeing "Angel Recovered"...hell, they should just tour the whole thing....

If anyone makes it please let us know how it turns out!

For the film festivals brave enough to try this, why not set up a webcam at the back of the theatre and just stream the film festival as it happens?

Hey Super8ers,

I just want to share with you the news that our film Shikashika won the jury prize for "best film" at Cambridge International Super 8 Film Festival. The generous prize includes 20 rolls of Kodak color negative film + processing and telecine services at Todd-AO in the UK. We are very excited to have this opportunity to make another small gauge film and very much appreciate this encouragement.

web:

If you are interested to learn more about our film, please visit our website:

and of course the festival web is:

...I know the directors are already planning for a 3rd annual festival so keep them in mind when your films are ready.

Congrats! I look forward to seeing this one day. Have you submitted to any of the LA fests?

...Thanks for the kind words. I'm very happy that the film is connecting with audiences worldwide. The film is in consideration at some upcoming LA area festivals. I'm waiting to hear from them.

We keep the screenings page updated:

I'm presenting the film at Mountain Film in Telluride in May and will spend a week at AFI / Silverdocs in June. Hopefully I will have a chance to meet some of you guys in person out in the festival circuit.

We are very happy with these placements and now this encouraging award from Cambridge! We are just thrilled about this and already dreaming-up a new small gauge film that we will shoot sometime soon.

Again, thanks
