No.  The B in both names does stand for bayonet mount, but the bayonet mounting on the two cameras are entirely different.  Sorry about that.

Oh geeze, that makes it easy!!! :P

I've never worked with K or M mounts before (but have seen them come up on Ebay recently). What are those?

Thanks,

Diana

K mount are for Pentax SLR still photo cameras

M mount (if I'm not mistaken) are for Leica still photo cameras

You can adapt most photo lens to almost anything 'cept motion picture cameras

'Cept for the Nikon lens.

Almost everything can use a Nikon lens<---man that sounds like a tag line

I should sell it to Nikon B)

Will the SBM or B mount Bolex cameras accept the arri B mount lenses???

Hey Tec,

There are 2 types of adaptors for Arri B to C mount:

1) one specially designed for barrel focusing, Cooke style lenses. This style has springloaded tabs that captures the lens and you can mount and demount all your lenses easily once you attach the adaptor to the camera. This type will work for all Arri B lenses, sort of a universal adaptor.

2) the other style adaptor is a set-screw style one that screws onto the outside groove on the Arri mount using 3 set-screws. These are generally cheaper and work well if you are permanently mounting one lens, like a zoom, for use on your C-mount camera. If you are using primes or switching lenses, it means you have to remove the adaptor from the camera, unscrew the 3 setscrews, reattach the adaptor to the new lens and screw it back onto the camera.

If you're interested in the universal style mount, I have one that I'll sell you for $350. I've also got a lot of Bolex, Arri, Cookes and other film and photo gear that I'm clearing out of my storage space that I'll be listing in the classifieds. Cheers -W
