Darius Shah
Hi all, I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for a post such as this. Shot a short film on the Panasonic AVC 151 which uses the SD card. The files for one of the days was accidentally reformatted and there was no back up. Is there a way to recover the lost files or is a reshoot the only other option? I have been trying various data recovery softwares and nothing except CardRecovery 5.30 is able to scan for the missing files but since i cant preview them i am not sure if I shld be purchasing the software. Thank you in advance for any help or Advice..!
Premium Member Phil Rhodes Posted December 22, 2009 Premium Member Share Posted December 22, 2009 If it was quick-formatted, the data is probably still mainly there, and a recovery program should have a decent chance of grabbing something. There are no guarantees, since these systems really weren't designed to do this, but it's worth a try. I'm sure there were free undeleters available last time I hit this snag - try googling for that instead. P
Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted December 22, 2009 Premium Member Share Posted December 22, 2009 There was a file I used on hard drives called Restoration.exe, I think. It's PC only and worked alright on occasion. It'll be a bit of a trouble going through what it recovers as some of it might be corrupted; but it's free and worth a try. I have a copy of it if you'd want me to mail it to you; send me an e mail and i'll be happy to fwd it to you (adrian at adriansierkowski.com)
