Olex's mount is for 7D not 5D.

7D is 22.3 x 14.9 mm (APS-C size)

5D is 36.0mm x 24.0mm (35mm Full-frame)

I doubt PL cine lenses would have sufficient coverage for 5D.

Cheers,

Jean-Louis

Thank for note.

The lenses of 35 mm cine cameras have limitation of a frame size:

Normal 35 22x16 mm (anamorphic 22x18.6 mm) or Super 35 - 24,9x18.7 mm.

As of this information, the cinema lenses can't cover of a full-frame photo size 36x24 mm.

So, we don't have any solution for 5D?

In video mode it's not using 100% of the sensor size so most cine lenses will work with the 5d. According to the Abel Cine tech chart here its 145% of 3 perf super35. Assuming most modern spherical cine lenses can cover 4 perf super its only about 16% larger. Obviously vignetting would be an issue, but not nearly as bad as it seems in this thread.

I'm the one who made that chart.

Modern cine lenses are designed to cover the 28.5mm circle of Super-35 3-perf. Many cover a good bit more than this, up into the mid-thirties. The image circle required for the Canon 5D in HD mode is 41.3mm, which is much larger and most cine lenses do not cover this.
