Eric Stenzel
I was wondering if anyone wouldn't mind telling me what this thing is exactly and what it's used for. I took some pictures, it seems to be in pretty good shape. Also if it's worth anything. Thanks
Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted September 21, 2011 Premium Member Share Posted September 21, 2011 It's a tripod pan head. You put it on top of a tripod and put the camera on top of it to pan the camera. It's heavier duty and was designed for 35mm cameras. It's a good head, IMHO, if it's been well kept. Tom Jensen
It's probably in the best shape I have ever seen an O'Connor 100. Is it attached to that wood thing. Not exactly sure what it is worth but you should get top dollar for it if it functions properly.
Eric Stenzel
It's bolted to the metal thing. Are any of those knobs bad to play with? I want to make sure it works properly before I try to sell it, I have no use for it.

Steve Switaj
It's bolted to the metal thing. Are any of those knobs bad to play with? I want to make sure it works properly before I try to sell it, I have no use for it. It's upside down. There's a stainless knob fastened with safety wire. Under normal circumstances, that knob locks down the release plate, to which the camera is (eventually) mounted.. In all likelihood, the release plate is screwed to the wooden thing with hidden screws. Snip the safety wire, loosen the knob, and hopefully, the release plate will... well... release, freeing your head.

Premium Member Hal Smith Posted September 22, 2011 Premium Member Share Posted September 22, 2011 O'Connor still supports the 100. Here's a link to a drawing on their website. If you email them, they might even be able to supply a user manual. 100C Drawing
