Premium Member Ed David Posted September 4, 2013 Premium Member Share Posted September 4, 2013 Sorry if this is so general and asked before - but anyone know the best place in New York City to develop 16mm? Thanks guys!Ed
Alain Lumina
I've gotten great service including lengthy explanations for my miniscule writer-director mind from Cinelabs in Mass. Don't know about NY. Cinelab also has high-res for 16mm also and Ultra 16MM scanning. No biz relationship, just a satisfied customer.
Premium Member Bill DiPietra Posted September 26, 2013 Premium Member Share Posted September 26, 2013 (edited) I've been very happy with Colorlab. http://www.colorlab.com/contact-us/ Edited September 26, 2013 by Bill DiPietra
Premium Member Will Montgomery Posted September 26, 2013 Premium Member Share Posted September 26, 2013 I believe Colorlab has a NYC pickup window that probably sends the film down to their Maryland facility but they really are a great operation. Tel: (212) 633-8172 27 West 20th St Suite 307, New York, NY 10011 Video and Film Solutions is related (literally) to Colorlab and they have the same excellent service and ability to do interesting cross-processing and custom prints. They are in Maryland and not NY though. http://www.videofilmsolutions.com

David Cunningham
So... are videofilmsolutions a different group? I notice they provide many similar services, are next door to each other, but have different pricing. It's very confusing. I find it hard to believe there are two facilities next door to each other that both to 16mm ECN processing. I imagine one of the two must send it next door to the other, right? Kenny N Suleimanagich
I'm also curious to know. As for what I've been doing, Cinelab in New Bedford, MA has met all of my needs.
Site Sponsor Robert Houllahan Posted January 2, 2015 Site Sponsor Share Posted January 2, 2015 Thanks for the kind words about Cinelab! There is now no photochemical processing of film in NYC with Pac-Lab out of business and NY Lab closing as of Dec19th. We bought two of DuArt's Photomec film processors, including the newest 35mm one. I think this is a sign of the times in real estate as much as it is in the biz. Cinelab is overnight by UPS Ground from NYC. Our small gauge 2K - 3K Super8mm scanning is online as of this week.
