Giorgio Taricco
Hi gents, does anyone know what mount is on the Kinoptik Tegea 9.8mm in the pics? Never seen one and I can't recognize it. Thanks for your help. Giorgio
Jean-Louis Seguin
This is what is called a ruggedized mount for an instrumentation camera. Used when the camera will attain high velocities and be subjected to strong vibrations.
Mark Dunn
Might there also be a C-mount under there somewhere? Edited April 3, 2015 by Mark Dunn
Giorgio Taricco
Thanks Jean-Louis, the mount can be disassembled by four screws but what would be the original mount under it? The seller says that Arri Standard to C mount adapter fits fine but the lens can not reach infinity focus, I have some other pics that could help, it's an Arri Standard mount? Thanks Giorgio
Giorgio Taricco
Found on the Kinoptik website that the Kinoptik lenses were aailable also with STALEX MOUNT, (high speed cameras), so I think it's a Stalex mount. Now I would try to see if the lens is standard and if I can fit a c-mount on or adapter, any help about the Stalex mount? Giorgio
Jean-Louis Seguin
Probably, you'll have to get a custom mount manufactured. What camera are you planning on using this on? Jean-Louis
Giorgio Taricco
I will use it on my Beaulieu 2016 Quartz and on the Blackmagic Pocket but I don't know where to find a tech to do the work... What do you think about? I don't want to spend more than buying a Cameflex or PL standard Kinoptik lens. Maybe Lee Bosher in UK will be able to do the job? Jean-Louis Seguin
Since the lens is designed for 35mm cinema frame, it would make sense to convert it to PL first and get a PL to C-mount adapter for your cameras. In recent years, this lens is often completely re-housed in a new barrel with geared focus and f/stop rings. In PL mount. Jean-Louis
