JB Earl
What makes the most sense for placing an instrument like a blonde or a junior out of a 2nd story window? 2 ideas: furni clamp on the sill boom or menace arm of course safety cabled. what's the most expedient and safe method? JD Hartman
Won't post my two cents. I've always wanted to do this or boom a fixture off a roof. Always get the idea shot down. Impossible! Of course you would have to block off an area on the ground below the window.
Stuart Brereton
I've done this many times with par cans and other small, light lamps. We use a baby stand extended out of the window (or off the roof) horizontally. The lamp is made safe, and the stand is counterbalanced with several heavy sandbags. Sanjay Sami
As long as you have everything safetied both methods should be fine. The menace arm allows you more offset if you need it, and a boom on a rolling stand would allow you to work inside and roll the arm out. Remember to safety barndoors and scrims as well.
