Giorgio Taricco
Hi gents, looking for a Aaton LTR battery. Don't know if I can use the XTR 3.0 Ah on the LTR, if it's the case also looking for a XTR battery. Thanks Giorgio
Premium Member Tyler Purcell Posted July 21, 2016 Premium Member Share Posted July 21, 2016 I recommend the 1.75Ah battery for the LTR. It lasts a lot longer and powers the video tap much better. The stock 1.2Ah batteries kinda suck. You can identify the 1.75 + batteries because they're thicker, they have a few more cells in them. I don't think you'd have a problem using an XTR battery on an LTR, but I'm not certain. One more thing to think about, any used battery will probably need re-celling. Giorgio Taricco
Anyone have a spare Aaton battery in needs of recelling? :) Thanks Giorgio
Premium Member Tyler Purcell Posted July 29, 2016 Premium Member Share Posted July 29, 2016 I may be able to help you out... but the cost of shipping to Italy and re-celling, doesn't seem worth it in the long run. You should be able to find batteries in Europe, especially in the UK. I've seen them on ebay before, just gotta keep an eye on them.
Giorgio Taricco
Hello, I really need just the empty box or exhaust battery pack, I will recell on my own. which type of battery do you have? Thanks Giorgio
Marty Oppenheimer
Giorgio I think I have several Aaton Battery Shells, which come apart with 5 screws and can be recelled. I also think I should have a 16mm Split Reel.Anything else you're looking for?Marty OppenheimerSeattle
Marty Oppenheimer
Also, on batteries, the "larger" recellable batteries are actually 16V batteries, not 12V batteries. The 16V batteries were required to get the LTR-54 up to 54fps. With 12V batteries, the motor would not get that fast.Marty Oppenheimer
Giorgio Taricco
Hi Marty, I need a standard 12V Aaton battery not the 16V type, but I think I can use the 16V envelope recelled to 12. If you can post a pic would be great. Regarding the split reel PM your request, you are in Seattle so I don't want to be killed by postal service. Thanks for your help. Marty Oppenheimer
Girgio I have at least 3 of the 12V batteries. I've attached two photos of the best looking two batteries. They definitely need to be recelled. Marty
