Peter Humble
I have a Super 16 converted Kinor. Is it possible to convert it back to regular 16mm? I'm guessing not but just thought it worth double checking.
Premium Member Jay Young Posted February 23, 2017 Premium Member Share Posted February 23, 2017 You could potentially just frame for 1.33? If the lens mount has been physically moved, it would be cheaper to get another Kinor - I assume. Why would you want to do this?
Peter Humble
You could potentially just frame for 1.33? If the lens mount has been physically moved, it would be cheaper to get another Kinor - I assume. Why would you want to do this? I've already tried that. The reason is I'm working with an an old contact printer. It prints 1.33 great. But the image from the Super 16, even when framed 1.33, has a light bleed on the right hand edge. It's obviously not meant to take Super 16. I don't own any other cameras at the moment so I got wondering. As you say, probably cheaper to get another one. Premium Member Tyler Purcell Posted March 23, 2017 Premium Member Share Posted March 23, 2017 You could make a plastic mask for the left side of the gate if you wanted to. Also, how does the full frame being exposed, cause an issue with the optical printing? Are you trying to put a soundtrack on?
