Grant Perkins
Any members of the Southern California guild know what the minimum rate is for Low Budget Theatrical for cinematographer or camera operator is? Does this rate apply to "short films" as well?
Stuart Brereton
Low Budget, Tier One and Tier Zero rates are by negotiation for both DPs and Operators.
Grant Perkins
Low Budget, Tier One and Tier Zero rates are by negotiation for both DPs and Operators. So IATSE will allow you accept any wage for a production to keep it "union"?
Stuart Brereton
So IATSE will allow you accept any wage for a production to keep it "union? Why would you accept 'any' rate? There are minimum rates for camera assistants, and DIT, but DPs, and OPs negotiate their own rates.
Michael LaVoie
I remember someone mentioning here that IATSE's rate is $98 per hour for the DP. But you can always call the hall and check with them.

Grant Perkins
$98 an hour isn't too shabby! That's almost the day rate for actors! They'll easily be the highest paid people on most productions: videos, shorts, indies.
Robin R Probyn
I believe its a well known fact that Sound recordists are ,with the exception of A list film stars., the most highly paid crew members..and empirically, the largest consumers of donuts.. Mark Dunn
I was thinking of bundles of £20 notes and a bottle of Johnnie Walker Red Label, or would it be Famous Grouse, or even Chivas Regal.
