Edwin Feliu Posted October 8, 2018 Posted October 8, 2018 I just bought this camera and noticed it has a film compartment unlike regular 8mm holders. Am I mistaken? Does it take regular 8mm film spools?
Mark Dunn Posted October 8, 2018 Posted October 8, 2018 (edited) No. It takes a reloadable magazine. Unless you can find the right one, and work out how to load it, you may be better off with a standard spool-type camera. Nice looking, though. Edited October 8, 2018 by Mark Dunn
Premium Member Dom Jaeger Posted October 8, 2018 Premium Member Posted October 8, 2018 If you were really keen you could buy an old magazine cartridge like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1950-s-Kodak-Kodachrome-Film-8-mm-with-BOX/263979340883?hash=item3d76651453:g:W34AAOSwerRbml-V and load fresh film into it, but I think it would be much simpler to buy a spool load 8mm camera. The double 8mm spool Filmos are great little cameras: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Filmo-Sportster-Double-Run-Eight-Bell-and-Howell-Company-8mm-Camera-Case/162880301917?hash=item25ec6c2b5d:g:Pu0AAOSwf15acmbb Some came with a triple turret: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-vintage-Bell-Howell-Filmo-Double-Run-Eight-Aristocrat-8mm-3-lens-camera/202462316922?hash=item2f23b1c97a:g:3rAAAOSw-L5buiNu The little Bolex ones are great too: http://cinetinker.blogspot.com/2013/01/servicing-bolex-d8l.html?_sm_au_=iVVNFtf4jV5kW65V
