Joerg Polzfusz
Hi! There are several small, portable, digital multi-track recorders, e.g. this one: https://zoomcorp.com/en/de/mictrak-recorders/mictrak-recorders/m4-mictrak/ But despite having 4 separate tracks of input, it only has got 2 channels for the output. So when selecting more than two tracks for playback, there’s a downmix of the output to stereo. Do you know any device that can not only record three separate tracks but that can also play them on three mono or on one stereo plus one mono connector? At the moment, I need a laptop with an external soundcard for this. But this solution is very bulky Thanks Jörg
Premium Member Tyler Purcell Posted December 28, 2022 Premium Member Share Posted December 28, 2022 Can it be digital? Many models have AES 12 channel outputs, but they would need to be de-embedded if your receiving side can't use AES.
Joerg Polzfusz
No, it should be „analog out“.
Premium Member Duncan Brown Posted December 31, 2022 Premium Member Share Posted December 31, 2022 Most of those more-than-2-track digital recorders keep all the tracks separate in the digital files you can download off the device. If you need the actual device itself to do the playback then yeah, that's going to be harder to find. Duncan
