Javier Illanes
Anyone knows where can I buy a portable 12v battery for arriflex 16s in Europe? Regards,
Fabian Schreyer
It is probably not what you are looking for, but I would consider building something yourself. I just re-fitted my dead 8.4V battery pack with a 11.1V LiPo battery and a DC-DC step-down converter. This gives me a super stable output of 8.4V. Which is important to me, as I have the variable speed motor which is quite sensitive to voltage variations.

Premium Member David Sekanina Posted January 12 Premium Member Share Posted January 12 The battery arrived and it works for me - although I don't run a 400ft mag with my 16ST. For this you might have to go with the bigger pack which outputs up to 6 Amps.
Premium Member Kamran Pakseresht Posted January 12 Premium Member Share Posted January 12 (edited) I wondered about this - doesn’t the 400ft mag on a Arri 16s have its own torque motor? I guess that is what would account for the higher current draw? Edited January 12 by Kamran Pakseresht
Premium Member Sebastian Bock Posted January 15 Premium Member Share Posted January 15 Hi Kamran! That's correct. The 400ft mag has its own motor but it will be powered via the camera. The user manual mentions that it will initially take up to 6A. @David Sekanina If you ever want to use a 400ft mag on your ST, make sure, you have the 12V version of the torque magazine motor. If it is not labelled as 12V it is the 8V version, which might be toasted, if you feed it with your power bank.
