  1. I have been meaning to see this for some time. I am going to see it as soon as possible.
  2. ooops. Sorry for the confusion. i meant London, Ont. Canada.
  3. Sure. IS there someone in London?
  4. Maybe I misread the article, but where did it say he was using 150's? It mentioned digital video but I didnt see any mention of what kind.
  5. That makes sense. Process the film, but hold off on printing or telecine. What is a reasonable amount of time to hold off on processing film?
  6. I am looking to start a new doc project. This will be shot over a few months. I was wondering if I shoot my film, can it remain unprocessed until I finish shooting. So, can the film I shoot at the first remain unprocessed until I finish shooting a few months later? How should I store it if I can do this?
  7. I have an Eclair NPR and an Aaton ltr, both of which need some repair and a tune up. Anyone know of any 16mm camera repair shops in Canada? Preferably Toronto or anywhere east of that?
  8. I have recently pitched a project to a couple of diferent broadcasters with a bit of success. Some of the questions I was asked by all of them include: What is it about? What are we going to see? Whats it going to look like? What is the beginning, the middle and the end? How much will it cost? Where will you get the money? What format? I realize you can never truly know all these answers at the pitching stage. I also know you cant truly know the end, but these are some of the questions that have come up from different broadcasters, all concerning the same project I was pitching.
  9. Speaking of Gone with the wind and Stephen Burum, one I caught the other day once again...The Outsiders.
  10. I feel like that quote from Lucas. I know its done, feels done. But at the same time i feel like im giving up because maybe there is something else I can do, but i realize I have to move on to other things.
  11. I spent two years working on a short film. When it was nearly done I was feeling really excited. I was thinking there would be this great feeling and this weight off my shoulders. The film is done, and I do like the film, but it did feel a little anticlimatic.
  12. If any of the Eastwood westerns are on , Ill watch them. Especially..Unforgiven, Pale Rider, and Jose Wales. Also, I have a tendency to always watch Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome when it is on, even though its my least favorite in the series.
  13. Actually here is part of the answer which Mr. Mullen provided for me in that thread: The traditional way to make titles (I used to do this myself for my Super-8 films) is to take the typeset words (black on white) and get a Kodalith negative made at a pro printing shop, which gives you an acetate with a black background and clear letters. I used to cram all my words onto one sheet rather than make one for each title, then take the Kodalith and cut it up. Then I'd get black posterboard and cut out windows for each word and tape the Kodalith words over the hole. Then I'd back the whole board, one for each title, with tracing paper and shoot it backlit. However, a title house would be shooting them on a light table using something like an Oxberry animation rig.
  14. I asked a similar question not long ago and got a few good answers on filming titles. You should be able to search my posts to find the thread.

    16x9 on pd 170

While the pd 170, I believe does not have Native 16x9, it does have a 16x9 setting. Would shooting in this setting give an altered image when compared to using an anamorphic adapter to shoot 16x9 on this camera?
  16. What kind of sound? What kind of "outdoor conditios"?
  17. I think it looks pretty good. WHat kind of film stock and where was it shot?
  18. Dont know the exact problem your dealing with. i deal with DVD studio , and like it.
  19. Im gearing up to shoot my second doc. This is the first on video and after weighing a lot things I have chosen two pd-170's. Price, low light ability and portable size were all factors.
  20. I had foortage to cut an hour doc with. Some people tried to convince me to shoot a bit more footage and make a feature. I did the opposite and cut everything out that didnt absolutly need to be there. In fact i cut until it was under half hour. It ended up making a better short then it would have feature or hour piece. When I thought it was getting short, I cut a little more.
  21. I have burned a lot of dvd-r's with no problem. That is the only type I use now.
  22. I just noticed that my service provider offers 5 mb of space ( I believe).
