  1. otari my film, , is listed on onsuper8.org . Shot on Tri-X Super 8 it's a silent film comedy. This is the first in a series of silent comedies I'm going to produce. Here is a quick summary..."This film takes place in 1920s/30s era in the style of those great silent comedies of yesteryear. We find Arthur(Cohen Phillips) trying to meet up with the girl of his dreams Vera.(Brooke Willhite) But along the way the Keystone Kid(Michael Reiser)gets in the way and things go awry."
  2. Here's a Christmas present for you guys, my silent short comedy shot on film!(Super 8 of course!) You can view the film here!. Feel free to leave comments here or at youtube.com. Some of you guys might recognize the character of "Arthur" as I did a short test film with him with my 16mm B&H. That topic and that clip is stillonline. Enjoy everyone and Merry Christmas! B) *if this isn't in the right place feel free to move it mods*
  3. Sent you an email Tony. Hope to hear from you "reel"soon! :D
  4. Thanks for sharing the clip! Yeah Tri-X is a great stock! I haven't shot any of the other B&W stocks yet, I just love Tri-X so much! I would be intrested in what camera you shot this with and how did you get hooked up with the company to shoot the commerical? I think I might try and shoot a few local commericals. :) Just wondering.
  5. I missed that part where he said that. Forgive me.
  6. Hey Steve, That would be the most direct route is to shoot on reversal. I've shot 7266 Tri-X outdoors and it came out great! It was a pretty cloudy day. I haven't shot any Plus-X but I'm sure it's just as good. Where will most of the film take place indoors or outdoors? Tri-X is 200ASA daylight. Plus-X is 100 ASA daylight. Hope this helps you out and good luck with your project! :)
  7. I was thinking of submitting for this grant for one of the 16mm cameras. Any tips okdac? Seems like you heard back from them pretty quick. Another question to everyone is that if you get the full package do they give you a support system(tripod) for the camera? Just wondering.
  8. Thought I'd speard the word with this bit of info...I was just at Dwayne's site and opened up there order form. It's been UPDATED! They have the 64T listed for a processing price of $9.00!!! Next Day shipment on that as well. So at least that answers the question that what the processing will cost. At least it's the same price as K40 was. They also have 64T stock listed but the price is marked N/A for now. So we'll have to keep checking on that. ;) Hope this is "new" news for some, if not I'm sorry. At least I didn't start a new topic! LOL :D
  9. Keep us updated on this Chris! I would love to see some of the shots you took. As I'm sure others would as well. :)
  10. I like Deep Focus as well. You can really get it on 16mm if you got a DP knowing what he is doing. It is neat to look at and see all the detail way in the background ect. :)
  11. I got one just like that that I've shot with! :D I've had great results with it. Mine has the Electric Eye on it, but I haven't used it. It's a nice little camera. Sharp images, rock study picture...it's awesome! B)
  12. John is right, run a test before you do any "reel" shooting with recans/shortends. :)
  13. Check out these 2 places for recans or shortends. DR Group and Raw Stock I've had good experience with both. :) Hope that helps you out.
  14. I was going to ask this question, but I'll keep it under this topic since it's being talked about in here. I was going to shoot some Tri-X or Plus-X 16mm(for a silent) but I wanted to add tints to it like they use to do. Just like what Dominic said above me. Now here is my question.... Does anyone know of any Lab that would do this? Or is this process long gone? Or here is another idea.... What about dyeing the film yourself, with like food coloring? Not sure if that would stay on. Like get a bucket, put in food coloring in, put your film in and wait and see what happens. That just might be wishful thinking but just wondering. Hope you guys can help out with this one. B)
  15. Yep you are the first responds. :) No this isn't my first film, I've been shooting films for about 12 years now. I was looking for a DP for sure. Give me any email and we can talk more. Got a reel or a site I could check out with some of your work? Thanks again for replying. Sorry I didn't post sooner.
  16. Yep that's the right Raw Stock. Hopefully they'll be able to help you out. :)
  17. I have to 2nd Pac Lab in NY. They do great work and have good prices. And are speedy. .17 cents a foot. Better than.55 cents. ;) I've had 7266 processed by them and they did an amazing job with the B&W! That was my first roll of 16mm and it just turned out gorgeous. I just had some 7240 processed by them and I was suprised just how good it turned out considering the stock I had was a few years old. Good luck and I hope that helps ya out.
  18. I'd either go to Kodak, Raw-Stock or DR Group. All 3 have been friendly and get me what I want. But I see that RS and DR doesn't have what you want. Check back in a few days and they might come up with something for you. Good luck finding what you need. :)
  19. Amen to that brother! I stand right beside you there. :)
  20. Didn't know where to post this, but I'm looking for some crew to help me with a few 16mm film shorts I'm going to be shooting this summer. Was wondering if anyone was in the states of Kansas or Missouri that had there own equipment(camera, tripod, jib ect.) or that just wanted to help out on a local 16mm film. I live in St. Joseph, MO which is about 50miles north of KC. Just PM me or shoot me an email and I can give you more details. Just wondering if any folks on the board were around the area willing to help out. Thanks in advance guys...
  21. I like the old school way. :ph34r:I like to get my hands right on the film and cut it. It's just awesome and there's something about it. Then I project them as there is nothing like seeing your work on a 6ft screen or bigger! :D But before I do any of that I do have the film transfered to video(and do a rough cut on an editing program) for refrence on how I sould cut the film itself. ;)
  22. I've shot Tri-X 7266 with the 240EE and set the lens opening myself. (As I don't have batteries for it yet) Tri-X is 200ASA outside and 180ASA inside and I test both inside and out and the film came out AWESOME! :D So I think if you can set it manually you should be fine. As the EE only goes up to I think like 100ASA. Not sure would have to check out my camera.
  23. Thanks Chris for the info. :) I'll look up this battery and try to get a few. See if my EE works on my cam. I'm having fun learning about ASA, F-Stops and all the manuel stuff though. :P Here is my footage that I shot with the camera if anyone missed it... Click here Tri-X 7266
  24. Tom, Thanks for that bit of info. Those screengrabs are awesome that Sean did. :)
