Film and the Environment
Alexander Zabotkin replied to Fred Neilsen's topic in Film Stocks & Processing
Sure. That's nothing when compared to many other things Sometimes you can see that film could be the most environment-friendly product if you look at many modern polluting industries -
I think there's nothing bad in this for today. Or maybe you need the 64T for your 35mm or M-format? :) Surely there can be a risk of Super-8 E64T discontinuation but I don't think that Super-8 will end on this.

A list of Super 8mm cameras that shoot 16x9?
Alexander Zabotkin replied to Clint Nitkiewicz Hernandez's topic in Super-8
The only way is shooting with modified cameras (such modifications are called as 'Super Duper 8' or 'Max8') Suitable anamorphic lenses are also a great choice but I don't know what you'd prefer. There's no other possibilities. Good luck -
Yes, if you're talking about Dwaynes :)

Hello, I have another question: Does anyone puts lab/telecine info and logos in your credits?
-
What risk of camera damaging would be? If the cart runs OK - just shoot.
-
You have to just break plastic. The filter notch is not ASA speed notch. You don't need an exact actions for this. If you want to know more about it, please read this page: http://super8wiki.com/index.php/Super_8_Ca...dge_Notch_Ruler Or just don't break that plastic and use an external filter. Your choice :) Best regards

Hello again These Canons have a good quality built-in filters. So you can use it without any problems. The 7217 200T emulsion is perfect for daylight if you want to go with Kodak color negative. Wittnerchrome 100D can be bought from Wittner Kinotechnik, Germany (www.wittner-cinetec.com) If you want another E100D choice you can get it from Spectra Film & Video in USA. Developing for that is the same that all E-6 films such as E64T. It depends on where you are. Best regards and good luck

There is no reason for worry So little overexposure would be fine for Tri-X. That is absolutely OK. For color negative stocks it is recommended to overexpose up to 1 stop You can read some info about cartridge notches on the following site: http://super8wiki.com/index.php/Super_8_Ca...dge_Notch_Ruler Best regards

Shooting Super 8 at 24 fps or 25 fps - help appreciated
Alexander Zabotkin replied to Mark Davies's topic in Super-8
There is absolutely no difference. Do 25 FPS and don't worry about this. So, as example, I always shot in 24 FPS and then did a 25 FPS transfer on a Rank. You can always correct that 'one frame' difference in post if you want And Leicina Special, of course :) -

Super 8 film stocks
Alexander Zabotkin replied to Bucky OConnell's topic in Film Stocks & Processing
Well, if you want to use a built-in CCA filter you should break a filter notch on the cartridge. Otherwise the filter switch will be disabled when you'll put the cartridge in. Best regards -
Super 8 film stocks
Alexander Zabotkin replied to Bucky OConnell's topic in Film Stocks & Processing
Hello I guess this is a good choice. I use 7217 in Super 8 for daylight and this is just great. The color correction filter is necessary for daylight. Praсtically, there is no difference between 85 and 85B Good luck -
Hello Great work with Vision 2 stocks What telecine did you use? Best regards
-
I have used these emulsions without any problems in 1014 XLS For daylight shots with 7217 a filter notch can be broken for using a built-in CCA filter. But I've used an external 85 filter. Don't worry about small overexposure. That's good for negative. Hope that helps
-
I think this should work fine. Maybe you can also look at Tiffen and other supplies of wide-angle hoods.
-
Good luck with the camera! Best regards
-
Hello Try to check the viewfinder indication when you switch it These Canon's have a full digital circuit, so problems with exposure correction at switching the shutter dial are very improbable...

what is the canon 1014 xls / 814, 814 xls like
Alexander Zabotkin replied to Steven Adams's topic in Super-8
Hello Great cameras and lenses. I have my 1014 XLS since 2007. So exact and fast AE cannot be compared to any other Super 8 camera The lenses on these I think are better than Schneider 6-70 on a most of Beaulieus You won’t be disappointed with these Best regards -
Hello everybody You can see that I'm located in Russia, Krasnoyarsk And I filmed some footage in the 'Bobrovy Log' ski resort under -23°C with my Canon 1014 XLS... I never had any problems. That Canon was CLA'd a year ago. Be sure that you use good quality cells or battery pack and everything will be all right

Beautiful set on that photo. It is very interesting to see what anamorphic can do :) Best regards

Thanks for your comments Hello! The clip that you've seen is without any saturation in post. I just captured some from the telecine tapes and uploaded it. Andec does a beautiful telecine work! I think that this compressed video doesn't look so good on Vimeo. But You can watch some stills here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/34692908@N03/...57612923194527/ The camera was frequently on AE mode. Unfortunately I didn't record sync sound with it. Thanks for watching
