  1. 3 blades can be seen in a few of the pics.
  2. But there's no dark between the frames in video. To the original question - are you wanting to know the time between one image and the next, or the dark time between their projection?
  3. Nolan did Batman Begins. Tim Burton directed Returns.
  4. Stills world uses ND2, 4, 8 etc. - the reciprocal of the transmittance. MP uses ND0.3, 6, 9 etc. - the optical density OD = log10 1/T Same thing, different name. So you're both right.
  5. You can get a new bolt for the tripod plate. Still cameras and consumer video cameras have 1/4"-20 threads, pro video and film cameras usually have this plus a 3/8"-16. There are thread adapters but they get stuck in the camera and they never come out again.
  6. A modern hazer uses much the same glycol-based fluid, and functions internally in a similar manner, to a fogger. The difference being that a hazer outputs a constant light stream of 'smoke' and a fogger does it in heavy bursts. It's far easier to keep a consistent and even level of haze with a hazer.
  7. The most effective and shocking view-from-the-victim t-bones I've seen last only a few frames, and on playing back in slow motion are revealed as really simple and loose composites. If you keep the shot short and fast it should be pretty straightforward to make it look real.
  8. There's a better way! I make a replacement crank handle for the K3. You can buy it here.
  9. What's known as Ag Pipe (Agricultural Pipe) in this part of the world is perfect for distributing the output of a party fogger. It's intended purpose is as a leaky duct for water distribution; a flexible plastic hose full of perforations. Only about $1AUD a metre. You need a reasonably high powered fogger to get very far down the tube. Just shoot it in one end and the tube fills and leaks smoke from the holes. Behind the scenes on 'The Crimson Rivers 2' has some good shots of this sort of thing in action.
  10. Yes, you just need to wire pins 1(-) and 4(+) straight through.
  11. Is that for me? You quoted my reply. Signature's intact.
  12. Filmtools have 'Official World Poker Series' softlights.
  13. 'free script' in Google will give you thousands. Pick a favorite film and refer the script to what is on the screen. It can be helpful to see the translation of words to film.
  14. How many boring people does it take to change a lightbulb? One.
  15. Perhaps the globe can run on DC, but it's nearly always AC, hence the flicker from magnetic ballasts running at line frequency. A ballast is just a big inductor in series with the output to regulate current flow to the bulb. The startup voltage, in the region of 3-12kV, is inductive back-EMF generated by the starter kicking the ballast or a secondary starter inductor. A magnetic ballast has very few components and appears simple, but there's some very clever designing to make it all work together. An electronic ballast does away with the huge inductor by 'faking it' electronically.
  16. If it suits the script, some wetting down of locations and wardrobe will do a lot to sell cold and bleak. Gusts of wind from eg., waving a foamcore sheet close by the actors.
  17. There must be at least 10 scrims in front of that light!
  18. Are you shooting video? Is it vertical? This is characteristic of an overloaded CCD.
  19. Diffusion covering an open sunroof is easy and pretty for daytime.

  21. I have some info on this other camera which is being touted as the VW8000 killer. Higher specs and LOWER PRICE. Sensor: "Even More Silent Gate" fuller-height 35.1mm-sized CMOS 145 Megapixel (3.1 x 48.1Megapixel) RGB-unmasked. Signal output: 8.1K x 6.1K 4.1:4.1:4.1 "truer-RGB" Dynamic range: 21-bit black to peak white Colour depth: 49 bit linear (3.1 x 16.1 bit) Signal to Noise ratio: 97bB Price: <US$14,999.99 Power requirements: single 12.1V 801mA power source Lens: any 35.1mm PL-mount Recording time: 61 minutes on a $97.99 flash memory module NDA prevents me disclosing more. Any negotiable currency accepted, not just used bills like some 'manufacturers'. I am only an agent, not the designer of the camera, so I can only answer simple media-friendly questions.

Remote control, but the press release gave little detail. Could still be video assist.
  23. Don't bother with barndoors on PAR64s; they look nice but don't do much.
