  3. Hi Tim, as i recall it wasnt the fact that the film was Anamorphic, but that Watkin hadnt a very good time with the producers when he shot the Muskeeters films. John Holland , London.

Ok Stuart i belive you , so why does it look so awful anytime there is a pan , a tracking shot or someone walking past the camera , its really bad! not an expert but makes me think this is not a good for HD camera , which ever one was used . Hi Dan , when i was your age went to the cinema at least a week , I saw " The Good the Bad and the Ugly" 7 times in the first week , no more than that , sat through next showing without leaving seat and paying , same with "The Great Escape " couldnt get enough of Panavision and Color By DELUXE .John Holland , London.
  13. Richard coronation st. {it was made in b+w last time i watched it } is a made by ITV , they get there money from ads , dont get any state funding . To be honest i never watch comercial tv here , i think the Beeb do a very good job . Happy to pay £11 per month for it , If you had Sky would cost you about £40 per month on top of licence fee, any way would not not anything to with Rupert Murdoch in my home . John Holland London.

My parents took me to see "How the West was One " in 3 strip Cinerama ,i must have been about 12, it was pretty impressive i must say , however i do remember the movie being spoilt by the very bad back projection in the rapids scenes ,i could tell at that age . A few years later went to the opening night of "2001"again shown in Cinerama, that was amazing , didnt understand it , but what visuals , watched it about 3 more times in Cinerama , then , shown flat screen Super Panavision 70 , and then 35mm scope.   20. I started using 25asa bloody ektachrome commercial 25 asa , a hip replacement op. Had a 2Kw Mole fresnel about 4 -6ft from wound , needed huge loads of depth of field to hold focus , had to stop filming about every 5 mins to stop the wound from steaming and drying out , not nice . hate actors now who say i cant dael with amount of light !! . Yes i did say boring old fart , but i did know this sought of thing when i was 14 at school , making 8mm films for the cine club , i found out the basics , from Kodak , books ,and trying things out , not expecting answer fro people ,on the other end of my computer , lazy , { no computers then } John Holland.   24. Must say two of the best Super 35 Optical Blow ups i have ever seen were " Gladiator" Technicolor London, and "Independance Day" both on huge screen at Pinewood Stutios. Think Deluxe did second one . John Holland. London
  25. Sorry chaps still think optical blow ups look better than DI , thye still keep the film organic look and not horrible smooth video look , yuk , John Holland , London.
