Really nice! My only critique would be that the image is too de-saturated. What did you shoot with?...

Michael Ballhaus, ASC (1935-2017)
Bill DiPietra replied to Satsuki Murashige's topic in Cinematographers
So sorry to hear of his passing. GoodFellas (1990) was the first of his films that I saw, but the atmosphere of The Last Temptation of Christ (1988) is my all-time favorite. Rest in peace, Michael. -

Develop the film. Worst case, it's not salvageable.

I would have been there as well but I had a previous engagement that I could not cancel. In any case, thanks for the review. It doesn't seem to make much sense that they won't process 7222. If you're going to set up a film lab, at least set it up to process all of your 16/35 negative stocks. If I need to process some 7222, I'll just send the entire order to Fotokem. And I live in Queens!

Your best bet is to contact ARRI directly. They are very accommodating.

16mm -Prime or Zoom lens?
Bill DiPietra replied to Gareth Blackstock's topic in Lenses & Lens Accessories
By the way, what camera do you own?... -
Sometimes you can tell just from the pre-production stage, and from how organized the director is. What kind of budget does the production have? How much of that is going into the camera department, etc.?... As Adrian said, all you can do is your very best, especially if you have a limited amount of tools to work with.

Camera Support for ARRI SR-2
Bill DiPietra replied to Bill DiPietra's topic in Camera Operating & Gear
This is a photo of the counter-balance buttons from the Sachtler Video 20-III (which I can't seem to find on their site.) Can someone tell me how those counter-balance buttons work? It just seems like hitting a button to adjust weight seems a little inaccurate... -

Camera Support for ARRI SR-2
Bill DiPietra replied to Bill DiPietra's topic in Camera Operating & Gear
Great information, guys. Thanks. -
Hi everyone. I've been trying to determine what support system would be best for my ARRI SR-2. At a given time, I would have the following accessories attached to it: ARRI Dovetail, Sliding Base-plate & 15mm rods SR-II Follow-focus MB-17B 4x4 matte-box I have don't have any long lenses. I've been looking at Sachtler items, primarily, and I want to make sure I get spreaders, too. I'm willing to pay for quality items (3K - 5K,) so if anyone can advise me, I'd appreciate any thoughts. Thanks in advance.

I forgot to set the film speed on my camera...
Bill DiPietra replied to Steve Williams's topic in Super-8
If you shot wide-open, the ASA setting kind of becomes a non-issue. I haven't shot Super-8 in about 20 years, but yes - the ASA dial is usually just to set the internal meter. -
Finally! The level of immaturity on there always boggled my mind.
